Can a liberal answer this question, conservatives allowed to pipe up too

Why is it only liberals on college campuses, students, administrators, and faculty that don't believe in free speech or at least speech they don't like? Can you think of any examples, let's say over the past 5 years, when a liberal speaker has been shut down by violence, threats of violence, riots, and the like on a college campus. Or anywhere for that matter (It may have happened, but I don't remember it).

I thought liberals believed in free speech and the answer to speech you don't like is more speech. Doesn't this facism on certain college campuses (a pretty big number) concern you? What do you think is wrong on college campuses where this kind of censorship is not only permitted but often lead by faculty? Based on this, is the definition of liberalism changing?

Can' read the article. The GOP is extraordinarily pro-Israel. Who were these protesters, when did it occur, where did it occur and was the speech shut down?

Also, I can point to many example of anti-semiticism on college campuses including a Jewish Woman kicked off of either UCLA's or USC's Student Government Board because she was Jewish.

I think the violence is way over blown, that said, any violence is too much. Throw the fu*kers in jail.

The article sites speeches disrupted or the speaker shouted down on the campuses of UC/Irvine, NYU, U of Minn. & U of Chicago. It is from December of 2016. Protesters described as right-wing pro-Palestinian.

This article mentions BDS as the responsible group. This is a left wing group and the article does not mention any right wingers, at least based on what I read. If I missed something (which is entirely possible), please let me know.

One could assume that any anti-Israel organization would not be a Liberal one and right-wing. However, in fairness, that is my assumption and it would be also fair to retract the use of that term.

Not sure about the BDS group, didn't really get that feel (left-wing) from their web site but again that would be an assumption. I think it is safe to say that this tactic of shouting-down a speaker is wide-spread, and probably not the exclusive domain of liberals.

BDS is extremely left wing and all over college campuses demanding that universities divest from Israel or even companies that do business in Israel.

The "Right" is far more supportive of Israel, lead by Evangelicals, than the left. From the far left NY Times:

Think about this....no different from the 60's and 70's. We survived. College campuses are liberal. Even students who attend Liberty have sex and smoke weed. I was pretty far left as a college student. Much less left now. We mature and become more conservative generally speaking.....that is how it works

They have no personal confidence in their ideology or an ability to defend it, so when it's challenged you're challenging them personally. Since they can't defend it, they lash out to protect at least their right to believe it, so if you attack their belief, you're attacking them and they will attack back or not allow you to speak.

With us on the right it's simply an intellectual pursuit of our beliefs and nothing personal. To them on the Left, it's a matter of their personal identity, they have no intellectual honesty or integrity behind their beliefs.

Thus the intolerance.

I was exactly the same way Original. I loved JFK. But actually this is just the opposite of that era. That era was all about free-speech. Berkeley was home to the free speech movement. It has been completely reversed with liberals wanting to silence speech they don't like and succeeding all over this country.
