Can anyone explain to me what the hell the Redskins were thinking?

They trade up to draft RG2 with the #2 pick and then pick Kirk Cousins in the 4th round? With apologies to the Raiders and Dolphins, the Redskins may be the dumbest team in the league over the last 20 years.

I heard there were only 13 QBs drafts including the 4 taken by the Colts and Skins. If true, then only nine QBs taken by the rest of the league?

Austin Davis not getting drafted surprised me. Good QB, very smart, strong work ethic, and with his head screwed on straight. Does anyone have any insight there?

guys like Kellen Moore and Case Keenum can't get drafted. You are talking about the guy with the most wins in college history (Moore) and the guy with the most passing yardage in college history (Keenum) and they can't get drafted in 7 rounds? Hard to believe nobody in the NFL would take a chance on any of these guys.

I was really surprised Moore and Keenum didn't get at least a 7th round look. Keenum was probably hurt by the fact that most of these system QB's have bombed in the NFL and maybe his workouts weren't great. Who knows.

I was not surprised at Davis. He's simply not that great on a lot of throws and he didn't seem to read defenses great last year. He was certainly a solid NCAA QB but I'd be shocked if he lasted long in any NFL camp. We'll see though.

The skins are usually good for some head scratchers. Snyder is like old Al Davis minus the rings. Kellen Moore is accurate but has a noodle arm and funky motion. Keenum has some of the same issues plus he's coming off a major injury. They are probably better off going in FA than a late round draft pick. They might luck up w/a roster situation. Also, I'm a dolphins fan and I don't know who had a more wtf draft than us

with the new rookie wage scale, it is cheaper to get a 4th round backup than pay some sucky veteran 11 million to come create news and stir **** up, thinking he deserves a chance to play.

can you guarantee that RG3 takes every snap in 2013?

I thought the Seahawks were the outright worst. Every pick they made was a a headscratcher for me. I think the thing that made the Dolphins draft look so bad was the the reach for Tannehill in the first round.

always felt he was just sort of a Danny Weurffel type that is an excellent college QB but not likely to project into a long term NFL player. Keenum, on the other hand, I think has a puncher's chance to do something in the NFL. Surprised someone didn't draft him in the later rounds. I know Houston was terrible the year he was out so their success was more than just the system. Keenum made some incredible throws during his time at Houston. And his injury was leg related and didn't affect his throwing at all and he showed no ill effects from that this past season.

is that it's really a very simplistic offense for a QB that doesn't do anything to prepare him for the NFL game. The NFL has seen too many of those guys come into the league and bust so they're not making that mistake again. I know the Redskins drafted RG3 with tht 2nd pick, but they're not the smartest team out there, and even they drafted an insurance policy in the 4th. </p>

While the overall amount of qb's taken may seem low more teams with major qb needs may draft multiple qb's than over pay a vet. Draft 1 early, 1 late, then grab a FA or two. Make a roster out of it somehow

saying that (my opinion) Moore was better than Tannehill. Look I know that Boise doesn't play in the SEC or a relevant conference. But honestly the pressure he had on his shoulders was immense the last 2-3 yrs. In order to be where they felt they SOULD be he had to play lights out EVERY game! Tannehill wasn't THAT good. I'm not sold on Keenum, but Moore was too good to not get drafted. The throws he made were down the field throws! Keenum threw underneath stuff his whole career & relied WAY to much on YACs. Product of the system like EVERY "run & shoot" QB from Houston.

Here are your all time passing yardage leaders before Keenum:

Timmy Chang
Graham Harrell
Ty Detmer
Kellen Moore
Colt Brennan

As far as winning QB's go, the top three are:

Kellen Moore
Colt McCoy
David Greene

McCoy probably won't have a job in a few months, and Greene never played in the NFL despite being on a roster for a few years.

You have to remember that minus RG3, we still only have REX GROSSMAN. As far as the NFL goes, it is a near certainty that RG3 will spend some time injured. If you spend a couple of years developing Cousins, you can easily trade him for a first round pick (which we gave up several to get RG3). Plus as others have mentioned, he will be a much cheaper backup as opposed to picking up a veteran free agent. Believe it or not, the Skins were pretty solid last year minus horrendous QB play.
