Where to find a list of incoming Baseball recruits for next season?
Preferably with stats.
Thanks

Here are some of the invited walk-on list that Gene is lacking in. Guess he thinks it's rumor and innuendo.

P- Elliott Varney- From St. Andrew's- Made Jackson All-Metro Team, and I believe 2nd team all-State, and has a decent fastball that tops out at 89. Needs to add to his repertiore.

C- Carlos Leal from some Catholic school in Puerto Rico- Good defense, needs a lot of work on offense. Gene seems to like him a lot, so either likes dogs or pizza.

INF- Dallas Hannah- from Meridian HS. Can play a lot of positions and is a "hustle" player.

Corner INF/corner OF- Luke Maddox from Jackson Prep. Hit 11 home runs and set a state record for RBI's with 76. Could turn out to be a very nice find. May also walk-on in football.

2B/SS- Sam Frost from Hoover HS in Birmingham. Small frame, but he did hit 8 home runs this past year. Probably a defensive replacement and pinch runner type.

Two things stand out to me. 1. Cohen's walk-ons look better than Polk's last recruiting class. and 2. I like the emphasis on Mississippians.

I know he has signed to play at MCC, but he is a D1 player in my eyes. He may even get drafted. I think I heard somewhere, maybe on this board that he would need too much scholarship money to play D1. Can anyone give me more info on this kid?

He played catcher, but I think he needs to work on his defense and flexibility if he wants to continue to play there.

There is no doubt that he can hit. It seems like the ball always sounds really solid when he hits.

As you said, he has signed with Meridian, and I do expect him to be drafted. I think there is a better than average chance that he will sign a pro contract.

If he doesn't, and he doesn't sign after playing at Meridian, he's definately a guy that I would want on my team. I think he would be worth whatever scholarship money he wants.

We finally got some pitching coming in!- Chad Girodo looks to be awesome.
We are going for speed, thank god it took long enough, Davis should be fun to watch. Jaron Shepherd will be batting cleanup immediately huh?

I do think Girodo has a chance to be a very good pitcher for us, but I like Watson, Bole, Bracewell, Stratton, and Miller better. I'm not saying that Girodo is bad by any means, just that we do have a lot of good arms coming in. I also think that Matt Lane and Kendall Graveman are going to be pretty good as well. I think Girodo is going to be very similar to Justin Pigott except that we won't be forced to make him our ace.

Davis will be fun to watch if he doesn't leave in the draft.

Shepherd is even more likely to leave than Davis in my opinion, even if he is drafted lower than Davis.

I know he played outfield his sophomore year when Freeman was catching, and the Clarionledger article naming him Mr. Baseball said he rushed for almost 3,000 yards in three years at wingback. So he seems to have the speed to play outfield and at least a decent arm since he was a catcher, but who knows?

of him moving to the OF in the pros.

I don't know how long he has been a catcher, and if he's only been doing it for a couple of years that could explain why he looked a little raw defensively.
