Things are settling down and the current new standard for conferences is at least 14 to 16 members to be a super conference....by 2025. The foreseeable future will see a battle between Big 12 and PAC to get to that number without tearing revenue sharing apart. The PAC will keep the ten remaining members and add SDSU and SMU...thus acquiring San Diego and Dallas market penetration. Worse it will take two legitimate Big 12 future targets off the board. So assuming both conferences push to 16 and the PAC is stable can the Big capture the best of the remaining G5 candidates quickly enough? Can see Boise and UNLV going to PAC...leaving USF Memphis for the 12. Both hit 14 but who's left? So the Big 12 has got to move quickly and make sure PAC 12 has a tougher rebound by taking SDSU for Southern California and Boise St for national brand....USF for Tampa .. while finishing 16 with Memphis. But...would have to get it done quickly.
