With at least two open schollies left, I would like to see a ball handler guard and a big guy. Both legit B1G players - no projects. We have schollies invested in Young, a project, Nance, who needs development time and Greer, who I think is more of a project after coming in a year early.
In fact, with Buie and the guard to be signed later, I would love to see them try to redshirt Greer a year and let him fall back to his natural class. Mac's age was an advantage, IMHO, and I think Greer's age is a big disadvantage.
And what of Falzon? If you are him, do you stay? Do you grad transfer? I'm sure the staff would prefer to keep him, but line up next year:
Buie / ?guard?
Gaines
Kopp
Nance
Benson / Young
With Turner and Beran filling out the top 9. I'm sure Falzon could win minutes back. And injury can quickly push him back to he floor. But if you are in Falzon's head - seems like you haven't gotten much time this year and things aren't shaping well for next year, do you take your NU degree and check out another campus with better girls and an opening in the top 6-7 spots?
And if that does come to pass, we are now facing 6 schollies to fill with two signed and one unsigned commitment...
