I was expecting some fine, co-branded Magnolia venom from our respective fan bases, and instead it's a bunch of infighting among the lunatics.

Get it together, message board.

As was just witnessed, a lot of other big schools are not lining up to get into the SEC...whether that is due to proximity, or other attachments.
Yes, there are other schools that want "In"... but for some reason, the SEC has not offered, most of which will be located near the East coast.
Plenty of other schools want "In", but are you going to dump existing founders, to get to Memphis, or Southern...certainly not Tulane. They just don't have the SEC type fan base.

Now, what happened over the last week, was a result of timing...what was going on in the Other BCS conferences, and we were taking steps to protect our position, when the timing said to do so. It worked! The SEC will likely stay as is for a while....but who knows. (Maybe a short while).

When you look at the natural Football Borders...things will stay cool, likely until the State of Texas is given back to Mexico. (which might happen)

I had heard about the article, but not read it. He showed it to me on his iPhone. The guy makes a valid point point about money, but I don't think he understands what charter membership means, and the near impossibility it would take for it to happen. I think he envisions a conference of only rich programs with huge tv markets. He mentions only the Miss. schools, but last I checked, there are more than a handful of schools that fall into our category in the SEC.

I thought what was most amusing were the comments under the article. I seriously doubt the guy who wrote the article knows the SEC by laws, or he would have never read the article. Or, he was simply trying to stir up trouble and sell newspapers.

There is a greater chance for the other 10 SEC schools seceding from the SEC and starting their own conference and leaving MSU and UM out, than us getting kicked out of the SEC.

either way, the guy is an idiot.

on ESPN and that paper website. That article was so poorly done it had to be a joke to stir up interest in that paper.

because we usually pull a huge upset right after one is written- the last one being when the idiot from T-Town wrote one.
