Looks like it's a matter of matching up the champion with the BCS and the next school with the closest/prestigious bowl while allowing Nebraska to play a Big 10 team and Missouri to go to the West Coast. I would have put Oklahoma State in the Holiday Bowl but I suppose the fact they played there a couple years ago and Missouri was last there in '97 might have been a factor. Here are the projections:
Tostitos Fiesta Bowl: Oklahoma vs. BCS

AT&T Cotton Bowl: Texas A&M vs. SEC

Valero Alamo Bowl: Nebraska vs. Pac-10

Insight Bowl: Oklahoma State vs. Big Ten

Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl:
Missouri vs. Pac-10

Texas Bowl: Baylor vs. Big Ten

New Era Pinstripe Bowl: Kansas State vs. Big East

TicketCity Bowl: Texas Tech vs. Big Ten

but (from reading different sites) is that the Cotton Bowl gets first pick after the BCS (2nd overall). I'm assuming (as with the SEC) it doesn't have to be the second place team. In the SEC, the Cap. One Bowl has to select a non BCS team with overall best record or within one win of the best record -- which means it could take a 9-3 Bama team over a 10-2 LSU team (assuming Ark. goes BCS too). I'll go ahead and further assume that the Cotton Bowl is similar.

Not saying it's right, just saying it happens. aTm is within one win of the overall best record (9-3 vs. 10-2).

A Texas A&M vs LSU or Alabama match-up would be better than a match-up with those other schools.

Although OSU and LSU would be interesting because of Les Miles, but OSU played in the Cotton last year.

but it is the 75th anniversary of the Cotton Bowl

Jackie Sherrill is being inducted into the Cotton Bowl Hall of Fame

You know which SEC team would make a great opponent?
