Can someone explain the Auburn running plays when they continued to pull 2 or 3 guards for Dyer?
Serious question: Can any of you Football wizards who have a better knowledge of the game please explain to me, why in the hell could we NOT stop the Auburn running play when they continued to pull 2 or 3 guards and completely mowed over and flatten our right side, edge defense? Auburn scored their first TD on this play call and again later but also had chunks of yardage at other times.
Auburn always used RB Dyer when they would run this same play toward our edge on the right side of our defense? I believe Memphis used this same play when they scored their first TD against our right side edge defense. Somebody referred to it as the Stacked Box or something? Damn Wilson, haven't you seen this enough now? 2 opponents have used the same play against us to score running TD's.
