Appomattox got hurt in points playing a 1A team (Altavista) last week. They may fall farther due to playing 2 sub-par non winning teams the next two weeks (Chatham, Nelson). They will probably take the #1 seed back if they win vs. 4A Amherst on last game of season. I spoke with somebody close to coaches, because I feared they wouldnt play starters in meaningless game other than taking #1 seed in playoffs. They told me they going in game "with guns blazing and in it to win it."

Union finishes season with one 1A school (Eastside), one 2A school (Battle) and a 3A I believe (Letcher County). So theres no chance Union ends up with the 1-seed, even if Richlands and Burton keep winning?

Well I hope so.....Why is the #1 seed in West 5 points less than East #1?

Nobody will catch Appomattox if they beat Amherst. Glenvar will surpass Union even if they both win out because Letcher is a weak team. We may very get the Giles/Glenvar rematch. I wouldn't want to be in either the 4 or 5 spot. The other three don't really matter and any of the five can win it all. Has the west ever been this deep ?

Appomattox gets 2 extra points for playing Altavista because they are both in the Dogwood. Any team's that play lower division team's that are in the same district, get extra points. If any team plays against lower division opponents outside of their own district, they get normal power points........

No disrespect to Buckingham..Just haven't heard much about them. Looks like the best spot to be is 1 or 2 to avoid a tough round 3.

There's no such thing as "avoid a tough round 3."

It's all relative and speculative but there is a big drop off in team caliber from #7 down. I would rather play #7 or #8 in that round, and let some of the other 3 great teams knock 3 other great teams out. All 3 of those games might as well be #1/#2 matchups.

In round 3 there's only 4 teams left in the east and 4 in the west. In the west there's most likely not going to be a #7 or 8 in round 3.

Buckingham and Giles are tied for 5th in AA West, but they would be 4th in AAA East. Also, they would be 1st in AA East. Buckingham beat East #3Amelia 67-17 and East #4Goochland 35-21.

Id like to know how you figure they would be 4th in 3A east... unless you figured them into the equation as if they were actually 3A and calculated points accordingly.

Yeah then more than likely they would be lower than 4... I don't have time to add up everything but they would probably make the top 16. & even if they were seeded lower I'm sure they would be a threat to whomever they faced in the first round... But who knows. They probably would make second round if they didn't face one of the top 4 teams in the first.

There average would be different due to them earning different points for being in a different division.

Actually it would be better. If you're a 2A school and you beat a fellow 2A opponent in district you get 18 points. If you're 3A and you beat a fellow 2A opponent in district you get 20. For example consider Giles being 3A. They would get 20 points for beating 1A district opponent radford. Plus rider points.

I get Giles at 165 every time I do them. As they are now in 2A. Can't figure out what is different. Or what I'm doing wrong.

112 just for each game + 53 in bonus points.
