What's NOT included: This cap does not include NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) deals secured by third parties, such as a brand sponsoring a specific athlete for social media. promotion.

Absolutely. I had to laugh when a fan from another school started talking about how the 20.5 million settlement money was finally going to let them compete in NIL.

I chuckled as I told him that the 20.5 is going to be spent by every school. (Granted, they may spread it around to different sports differently). But this wasn't "catching up", this was just raising the floor.

Those offensive lines of the George Rogers/Black Magic era were recruited and started to be built by Jim Carlen, who himself was an offensive lineman at Georgia Tech. Then Carlen was unjustly fired by corrupt and unethical Jim Holderman. If Carlen had remained Head Coach, I believe South Carolina would have become a national power in the 1980s and 90s. Of all the words of tongue and pen, the saddest are "what might have been". I really liked Jim Carlen. He spoke his mind and did not care who he ticked off. For example, he'd said, "I'm a Republican", even though he might have been trying to recruit kids who came from Democratic families. Carlen was one of a kind.

....because we insist on running that dang Zone Blocking scheme that has OL confused on who to block instead of just getting a hat on a hat. Only watching South Carolina do I see linemen spinning around looking for someone to block instead of actually blocking people.
This is about the dumbest thing I’ve ever read football related. The zone scheme is about the easiest scheme to teach linemen. You literally step to the side and hit whatever gets in your way. We also run gap schemes, we run power and counter and we run pin and pull sweep. Like EVERYONE ELSE in the country. It ain’t the scheme I promise you that

...and they are not performing that function. So, who's dumb? Also, it would be nice to have a Center that knows he needs to snap the ball before he moves.
