Can someone tell me about Julius Randle?

I admit that my interest in college basketball fell through the floor this year so I really did not see Randle play much. However, I am still a big Laker fan and he sounds like a big talent that could make an immediate impact in L.A.

When I saw him at The Hump this spring, he was the guy I thought the Lakers would take if they didn't luck out in the lottery. Brings some physicality we have lacked in years past, very talented post player.

Physical player that has quality midrange game. He will provide good energy for the team. His ceiling reminds me of a zach randolph.

Its hard to tell with these guys who only play one year, but he could turn out like Zack Randolph or he could be one of the nondescript big men who populate most NBA rosters. He doesn't seem like as obvious a prospect as someone like Al Jefferson was.

- Probably one of the more NBA ready players, especially in terms of Lottery picks.
- Great motor, effort, and rebounder.
- solid scorer overall.

- he will probably never be rated high in terms of steals or blocks. His wingspan is basically his height. TRex arms. Could limit him in traffic in the paint too- tough to get his shot off against NBA talent? Who knows. That's really his major drawback, and it may not even be a major one.

I get the Zach Randolph comparison but I wouldn't call that his ceiling. He's not at Randolph consistency now but I think his ceiling is a lot higher than that. I think he is special, think slightly less than Karl Malone or Barkley for ceiling, I'm not saying he is there now but the kid is 19, who knows what he looks like when he is 25
