I mean this kat is coming off a knee injury and its un-tested. He is being limited in practice. Who elsewould be a better RB oroptionthan him at this point?

Another TidBit I find funny along side Bush

SAINTS-TEXANS RIVALRY: RB Reggie Bush said the Saints and Texans have started to develop a rivalry after practicing with them over the past few years.

“In a funny kind of a way, it has kind of turned in a rivalry,” said Bush. “We were talking earlier about how thetemp wasn’t asphysical as it usually is when we practice against them. We will see what happens later on.”

I saw that they waived Lynell Hamilton after his knee injury and I'm really not so sure that Betts adds any type of significance to the RB depth. Hopefully either PJ Hill or Chris Ivory will prove to be reliable. They certainly both looked pretty good to me last week when I watched them (in person) against the Pats. And honestly, Ben-Jarvis Green Ellis looked better than Maroney.

I'm figuring they get Betts in camp to better evaluate him, knowing if he doesn't look good they can replace him withsomebody else that will be cut soon from another team. I could seeBetts gettingcut in a week or two and replaced with a back that is released by another NFL team. Rosters cuts will be coming soon and there will be guys looking for a job. They might find a better fit in a week or two.

they missed out on Justin Fargus by a day or two when Hamilton went down. If Betts is healthy, I think he can fill the Mike Bell / Hamilton role of 2009. But he might not be 100% by the opener.

There isn't alot of options on the open market right now to fill that role on the Saints. Another few weeks and there will be numerous options for the 3rd RB. One thing to keep in mind, this 3rd RB really adds value if they play special teams. Hamilton was good on special teams and I think Betts played on special teams for the Skins.

Hill or Ivory might be the guy in the end.

Hate the Saints don't have a really good backup but it has to bode well for Thomas to very possibly be a top 10 fantasy back especially in PPR leagues.

I know we don't have a shot at getting him, but itwould be awesome if they had Brandon Jacobs. I know he has crest the mountain but he is a speciman.

Once those cuts happen, some options will open up.

Hill looked solid in preseason last year and in the first game. I know he bounced around a few practice squads last season, I think he may get the nod this year.
