And there you have it. The players admitting to giving up. I am a realist. On the basketball board I say positive things because they are good and I have 234 likes. On the football board I am realistic as well but say negative things because there is nothing positive to say about the state of the football program. nice try on the slandering though.
Unless changes are made this week to the coaching staff or something is done to change the direction...this game will be uncomfortably close (EKU), or could very well be a loss.
There is one guy on the team that has shown up two weeks in a row, and played with heart and courage, he isn't perfect and misses some assignments, but by god he gives it 100%, and that guy is Jones.
The poster in another thread that said if we had 21 more of him we would be 2-0 is exactly right.
This team lacks heart, courage, leadership, and guidance. Would not be at all surprised to see a complete collapse, and have a feeling a lot of the players would do it intentionally to bring about some change.

Dakota25, I apologize to you for last week. I hung onto a little hope and took it out on you. You were correct, and I was wrong. I wanted to give Stoops this season to see if things had changed, but it's clear now that things have only gotten worse.

Kentucky just lost to 2 teams both ranked well above us in national polls. So take a deep breath and calm down, bro.

Sorry, what have I said that could in anyway be considered trolling? Dakota25 only says negative things about the football program. I didn't call him a troll. just said he wasn't a fan of our football program. Defend him all you like, call me names all you like. It doesn't change anything. I usually don't post, just read because you guys always seem to attack each other. I know its out frustration but it does get old.

Having spent 8 years of my life in NM (ABQ) I know a bit about Las Cruces and NMSU. They are typically awful. Last year they were one of the worst teams in the country, but they are coming off a big win (for them) over New Mexico which was expected to be an improved team this year. Yes, I think the Cat's pull off the "upset", but not by much. Maybe 7 or less.
I've been following them for 20 years because they are my school. There is nothing positive to say about the current state of the program. also I don't care what you think. How about we just ignore each other?
I have no problem with that. BTW, I do agree with some of what you say, but you never say anything positive. I don't post negative comments cause I know players and their families read these boards. They deserve better. I have been a fan for 22 years and this is probably the lowest I have been in that time but I try to keep the negativity to myself out of respect for the players who give so much and then get bashed for it.
According to at least one player on the team, he has teammates that are giving very little if anything at all. What's that tell you?
That tells me some players should be benched for not giving their best effort. Set an example. Get control of the team. What else should that tell me?

I knew there were some line issues, but for the fist time since '07 I had legitimate expectations/hope for this team. The first 2 games have been hard. As a fan, I still have hope this team will right ship, but I don't have a clue how. In the past I thought we just had a major talent gap. Now, with the talent upgrade, who knows. Is it the coaching? The players?

It tells me that Stoops should bench Eliot and demote himself to DC. Maybe Brooks could run the team to get us to the end of the season and then figure everything out.
I'm right there with ya, man. I had moderate hopes for this team and was willing to let the season play out, but two games in it is clearly evident that there are MAJOR issues. It's not a talent issue because UK has won before with less talent. It's a player development issue and that falls squarely on the coaching staff. It's also an issue with schemes especially on the defensive side of the ball and offensive line...again falls squarely on the coaching staff. Granted some of the players have quit less than two games into the season, but why do players quit that early? It all goes back to the coaching staff.
Very true. Based on what one player had to say following the loss to the Gators, it's apparent there are STILL locker room issues with this team. That's also on the coaches.
