You know he’s a dangerous guy - they have a ton of momentum at the moment.
you’ve got to at least make them drive the field for the tie

Meh...they shut him down all game. The punt wasn't high enough.Don’t kick it to him.
You don’t play Russian roulette with the game on the line just because you haven’t shot yourself in the head yet. It was a really dumb calculated risk with not enough upside at the end of the game.Meh...they shut him down all game. The punt wasn't high enough.
Yeah punting had been pretty good this year. That was the one time he through basically a low line drive pass. He should have been told to paint the cornerMeh...they shut him down all game. The punt wasn't high enough.
Every sane football coach in America should know that you don't allow an all American playmaker to make a play to beat you with 1:47 left on the clock. You punt it deep and out of bounds and make them drive the entire length of the field in 1:47 to have a chance to beat you. A field goal wouldn't have beaten us. They'd have had to score a TD. Lebby made an incredibly dumb call there and showed his total lack of situational awareness. I'm shocked someone wasn't screaming in his ear what to do there. And you're completely wrong on the "ball wasn't high enough" statement. Go back and watch the video. Niblett had to back peddle to catch it. We out kicked the coverage and Niblett had a chance to get up to sprint speed before the coverage got there and he was off to the races at that point.Meh...they shut him down all game. The punt wasn't high enough.
As good as our punter has been, he was off Saturday night. Had a few line drives in there. Deep but not much hang time. We bragged too much and jinxed him.He put punted the coverage. We literally lost because we punted the ball too far. As msu as it gets
It’s because the offense continues to hurt the defense and special teams. It’s amazing some people can’t see the entirety of the whole picture itself. People are only enamored by fools gold.Special Teams cost us 14 points so yeah that unit needs some grief. Instead we would prefer picking on the coaches/group that rolled up 38 on a good defense.
How did the offense cause a FG to get blocked? Or the FG team to commit a stupid penalty on a FG? Or a punt to be returned for a TD?It’s because the offense continues to hurt the defense and special teams. It’s amazing some people can’t see the entirety of the whole picture itself. Lebby's offense is to run as many plays as possible and as fast as possible to wear down the opposing defense. However, this also applies to his own defense, and not to mention special teams guys that play both ways. More times than not he’s putting those guys back out on the field with little rest. Fatigue shows up in the game a lot of times as poor execution and coverage ect. Not only is he causing our defenders to be out back out on field sooner than later with limited rest, a lot of times their thrown back out their in high leverage situations because of his dumb decisions. I think also offenses like Lebby's can hurt special teams by taking away focus and emphasis from the practice of special teams. Also with less depth you are using special teams with players who are already fatigued from playing on offense and defense, or you’re using non top tier guys. They had the same special teams issues at Oklahoma because of his house of cards offense. How did the offense cause a FG to get blocked? Or the FG team to commit a stupid penalty on a FG? or as to the defense, how did the offense allow a guy to get behind two defenders up 17 at the end of the third? Or commit a game changing late hit?
the dumbest thing we did was go for it on 4th from our 37. That’s not a scheme thing. That’s just a lack of common sense.
I get you don’t like Lebby but 38 points should win a game against a terrible offense. When you blow TWO 17 pt leads with 16 minutes left it’s not on the offense
The defense defended 11 total plays from 8:46 in the third to 12:29 in the fourth quarter They were fine. Gotta get off the field. The issue is just the same as TN. We couldn’t get off the field one last time and win the game. And it wasn’t bc we were tired.Lebby's offense is to run as many plays as possible and as fast as possible to wear down the opposing defense. Pretty specific and selective stats there. You left off just about the entire fourth quarter and overtime. Not to mention including special teams plays. Once again, It’s amazing some people can’t see the entirety of the whole picture itself. You proved my point. The defense defended 11 total plays from 8:46 in the third to 12:29 in the fourth quarter They were fine. Gotta get off the field. The issue is just the same as TN. Same thing against TN. 11 plays defended from 6 min in the third to around 7 in the fourth
No, Im showing you that the defense was fresh when they let us down In the fourth. That’s the entire point. And hell, the reason they were on the field longer than they had to be was their own fault with the roughing the passer. And the idea that we are so tired we cannot cover a punt is wild. We will just agree to disagree on that.Pretty specific and selective stats there. You left off just about the entire fourth quarter and overtime. Not to mention including special teams plays. I only see people giving grief to the person that’s in charge of all of them.Special Teams cost us 14 points so yeah that unit needs some grief. Instead we would prefer picking on the coaches/group that rolled up 38 on a good defense.
This is the correct answer.^^^^^No I put that on the coaching staff. You know they have an electric return man.
Punts have calls like any other play. The play call should have been to punt to the boundary and out of bounds. We punted it down the center of the field.
Just like last week, we were in great position to attempt a game winning FG at the end of regulation and completely bungled it.Even after the punt return we should have been in good shape to win in regulation. A minute and a half with 2 timeouts (I believe that’s right) and a field goal wins it? You’ll take that every time.
The loss isn’t on any one person. Not the punter, not the QB, not the OL who made the false start(s) or the guy who got flagged for late hit on the QB.
I’ve said I don’t think the QB is good enough. Overall I thought he played a lot better Saturday. I was ready to say he had proved me wrong. But we couldn’t get it done in crunch time. (I’m still hoping to be proven wrong.)
We’ve got to learn how to compete for the whole game. I hope we’re able to keep focus and play to our potential, because that’s three absolutely soul-crushing losses in 5 weeks.
I believe the announcer mentioned, before the runback, that the punt was low and long and didn't give the defense a chance to cover the ball. And sure 'nuff, he ran it all the way back.Meh...they shut him down all game. The punt wasn't high enough.
