Can't we stop this 2 for 1 crap now that we have the SEC revenue?

Stricklin is not opposed to striking more two-for-ones with schools such as South Alabama, Troy or Louisiana Tech in the future.

“It’s like any other scheduling relationship: You’ve got to find a willing partner and the years and the dates have got to match up and all that kind of stuff. But we’re certainly open to it,” Stricklin said.

I like going to places like S. Alabama where we have fans that can attend a game close to home when they may not be able to drive to Starkville for home games. Tulane would also be a good one. I'm not so high on the Troy and LaTech ones though.

I don't have a problem with it at all. We may wind up buying out that game or postponing it to 2017 depending on how the home-and-home shakes out on our Big Five OOC games for 2016-2017. We won't be seeing as many of the 2-for-1 deals in the future. We only have room for 1 road OOC game per year and that's going to be taken every other year by our Big Five opponent.

I am fine with it, as long as we can have a good fan showing...

South Alabama is a good location, and obviously Tulane is an excellent trip...

Troy was terrible place to play, and Ruston is not much better. I had just assumed play at LA-Monroe as I had Tech.

Another good trip would be Georgia State...they are in the Sunbelt and they play in the Georgia Dome, and there are a good many State alumni in Birmingham & Atlanta...

These games have grown on me

I can probably speak for a lot of guys with young kids...its a ***** getting to Starkville for a game. After getting soaked at USM, heat stroke at UAB....i honestly would probably not go to this game if it were in Starkville this weekend. Id sit at home and watch it on TV. these non conference games have gotten so ******.

I like the idea of our coaches blanketing HS games in the Mobile area on Friday night, having our fans that live in the area get a treat by having a game thats easy to get too and then we save $1,000,000 dollars from having to pay those guys to come to Starkville.

I'm fine with doing this once a year. Seems like a win all around.

I view some of these games...and going to Mobile is one....as a recruiting tool. Of course it requires us having a really good showing and win, but it puts us in front of kids who might not get a chance to see us on an ongoing basis and promotes more regional interest in our program. I do want the team we visit to have a nice venue though.

If we're going on the road to play La Tech it would be better to play it in Shreveport
