Can we just admit this is the problem?

Overpopulation is a racist myth? Look at the litany of examples in nature throughout history, not to mention mankinds own. Liberals go on and on about science, evolution and survival of the fittest, and when you point out numerous instances all of a sudden its racist. The left has lost its collective motherfucking mind.

Now that's some outside-the-box thinking there, Glenn. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you are on the same side that deems abortion to be murder. What's your suggestion to fix this problem? Abstinence? Forced sterilization? It seems the same side also thinks it's a religious right to deny a woman birth control. Hell there's a pretty popular religion in this country with an official position that birth control is evil and immoral. So how do we fix this 'spurting out babies' problem?

You make a great point. My wife is catholic so we went to the catholic classes before we got married and that’s where I learned using a condom or even the pull out method is a sin. Very odd.

I’m not a liberal bub but keep barking up a tree if you want. I’m not going to do your homework for you either. Google is your friend. Books. Read them.

Well give China credit they are trying to solve the problem by releasing a global pandemic to wipe out the weak and elderly. That should also help the global warming problems.

No color, religion, nothing. The problem is that there are just too many people spurting out babies that they shouldn't have. Overpopulation is BY FAR the biggest problem facing the planet.

Solutions:

You get one chance with gov assistance when having a baby out of wedlock

Otherwise you must be married with children lol

No gov assistance for unwed women having babies with multiple dadies

Thus rewarding the nuclear family

But alas solutions arent really wanted bcuz big gov wants women dependent on its “assistance”

So what are your thoughts on a SOLUTION?
what specifically? The massive inefficiency of currently known political and economic systems?

Don’t think the government should be in the business of telling people who should or should not have children. Neither should religion or random ******** off the street.

I mostly agree with that sentiment but thats not a solution or a thought on solutions lol
Address the inefficiency of the systems and the problems go away. How to do that? I don’t know. Neither does anyone else or we would have figured it out by now. Maybe AI solves it eventually.

Capitalism is flawed and leads to huge problems of inequality and the ills that stem from that. Communism only works on the micro level, not the macro one. Democracy is beholden to the whims and ignorance of the mob. Authoritarianism/Fascism tightly controls the population and leads to losses of freedom for huge swaths of people with no recourse for their grievances.

Maybe we’re only meant to live in smaller groupings. Where resources are allocated better and the inefficiencies of the systems are nominal. Supply chains are shorter, waste is minimal, community is strengthened.

IDK. Definitely don’t have the answers.

Belief in some sort of transitory state apparatus which is a fundamental foundation of classical Marxism is flawed. Probe to abuse just like I pointed out and history has shown us.

Accepting & acknowledging the 7 deadly sins is important.

No stopping greed.

So... as far as greed goes id trust that sin in capitalism is farrrrrr more trustworthy than any other “system”

No one has the answers. Socialism is complete ignorance, in every respect imaginable, and cannot ever really address inefficiency.

Inefficiencies aren't addressed now well enough because they cannot be in a manner which creates more efficiency, more productivity. If/when they are, the free market does so because it invariably leads to greater profit.

The primary flaw of capitalism is its success. The greater the success, the greater the appearance of inequality. The average American though, is the 99% wrt to the the rest of the world.

It is the success of post world war 2 american capitalism which is the primary impetus for the much hihger standard of living, hte peace and prospertiy the world enjoys today.

In the future, efficiency will be forced, as the current path of rapid economic growth which allows you and I to live better than anyone else, upgrading our iphones every year and various other aspects of throwaway culture while 80% of the rest of the world lives on a fraction of what we do, will be forced due to scarcity. Resources needed to sustain us, and to make the rest of the world richer and more in line with us, are not renewable at the rate they are being extracted, which is an ever increasing rate. Technology willlikely fix that when the demand is there.

The problem is accountability. There isn't any.

Trying to fix the problem after the mistake is made instead of setting deterrents to making bad decisions is what we've been doing and it isn't working. Make the punishments higher and final for rape, murder, and adding tough penalties for getting someone pregnant outside of legal marriage would be a step int he right direction.

Pleasure is not a "right" but most believe it should be or don't even think about whether it should be.

If you can't afford to support the child or will refuse to do so, or expect the state to do it, you have no business engaging in the act. Pretty simple. Think about the burden on the system produced by people that initiate a pregnancy. Whether it is abortion, CPS, welfare, or custody issues, we're talking about something that leads to a hefty bill for everyone but the people not being responsible for the act.

The problem is that rich people want to be able to get away with this, so they make the rules in their favor.

Yes, the pie is ever growing... one problem is zero sum thinking.

When you take from the productive though, to give to the unproductive, you decrease productivity. It invariably decreases the size of the pie outside of very minimal, targeted actions, the kind we already do with the progressive tax system and public works.

Doing it more, by being more progressive as it were, decreases the size of the pie or otherwise inhibits its growth in the manner that is born out in the economic reality any and everywhere you look. The average European, for example, is significantly poorer than the average American, but not that significantly less productive. The European welfare state fixes so-called inequality by making everyone poorer than they otherwise would've been, and where they've moved away from it as in the case (among other reasons) of Ireland, they have enjoyed greater economic growth.

I agree with your comment that government shouldn't be in the business of telling people who should or shouldn't have kids. That being said, Federal aid is financially rewarding, and enabling, people to have kids out of wedlock who otherwise wouldn't have them, or couldn't afford to have them. Current policies, for all practical purposes, are creating economic incentives for the breakdown of the nuclear family. I would agree with Turnip that eliminating these rewards would go a long way toward fixing the issue.

Greed is the problem. We have the resources to sustain the population if everything wasn't a commodity.

Food, water, housing, etc.--none of that is unattainable because of the population size.

True. It always has been greed. Selfishness. Laxk of self-control. Lack of consideration for others.

There will always be people that want more than everyone and for less money. There will always be people wanting to exert control and influence. There will always be people willing to sacrifice others for their pleasure, gain, or power.

This country was established to limit those people, but like all systems this one relies on people holding themselves and others accoutable. We don't hold leaders of other countries or this one accountable. As long as they do things that help our corporations, our economy, and/or gov, we havent cared what they do to their citizens. That is why the system is failing and the same problems are coming to our citizens.

Overpopulation is a problem. But there are studies suggesting shrinking populations will lead to contracted growth I believe around 2050. There might be a time where the problem is the opposite. And in long run it’s probably a good thing.

Not a sacrifice.

Who is responsible for making babies?

Adults?!

Women need to be held to a higher standard & not by men but to themselves.

we shouldnt reward them by having too many kids with multiple baby daddiez

"Were only meant" is strong. Smaller groups are just better because communication and coordination are hard problems. The bigger the group the more opportunity to fail.
