Can we just admit this is the problem?

Not a sacrifice.

Who is responsible for making babies?

Adults?!

Women need to be held to a higher standard & not by men but to themselves.

we shouldnt reward them by having too many kids with multiple baby daddiez
And what do you think happens when you take away money that is used to feed them? Food doesn’t just show up on their plates by doing magic tricks or praying to some make believe god.

Who said there was a problem? I’m enjoying a coffee right now looking at my beautiful kids getting excited for the UK football game. And you know how I achieved this great life that is borderline magical for a human from 200 years ago? I was good and consistent about reading books and answering multiple choice questions growing up. There’s never been a better or easier time to be a human being than growing up in modern America.

Also, if you think overpopulation is the problem, you need to start saying some religions are the problem since some, specifically Catholicism comes to mind, is ant-abortion but also anti-contraceptive/birth control.

Yeah. What’s up with this contraception crap? It should be made available. I don’t understand how any religion can be against it.

It's the literal reading of Genesis.
"And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein. "

It's not just a Catholic thing only, I've just had the same discussion with an evangelical Baptist family member.

I figure there’d be a whole lot more kids runnng around in the Bible if they abstained from using contraception

Mortality rate was much higher. America 1800 almost every other child died before their 5th birthday. Today it's less than one every 100.
Moses was lucky he lived as long as he did, even in this day and age.

Im not sure that it’s 8 kid households that are leading to our doom Glenn. The country rose to greatness when big families were typical.
Most large families are by choice.........single parent families.......grandmothers raising grandchildren.......this is the true bane of society............Thank you Lyndon B Johnson.......

There is nothing wrong with extended families or single parent families (I raised a child as a single parent) but I can see by your last insertion of “blame” what you’re really trying to say.

No one has the answers. Socialism is complete ignorance, in every respect imaginable, and cannot ever really address inefficiency.

Inefficiencies aren't addressed now well enough because they cannot be in a manner which creates more efficiency, more productivity. If/when they are, the free market does so because it invariably leads to greater profit.

The primary flaw of capitalism is its success. The greater the success, the greater the appearance of inequality. The average American though, is the 99% wrt to the the rest of the world.

It is the success of post world war 2 american capitalism which is the primary impetus for the much hihger standard of living, hte peace and prospertiy the world enjoys today.

In the future, efficiency will be forced, as the current path of rapid economic growth which allows you and I to live better than anyone else, upgrading our iphones every year and various other aspects of throwaway culture while 80% of the rest of the world lives on a fraction of what we do, will be forced due to scarcity. Resources needed to sustain us, and to make the rest of the world richer and more in line with us, are not renewable at the rate they are being extracted, which is an ever increasing rate. Technology willlikely fix that when the demand is there.
Socialism is only bad if you think your money is going towards someone else. That's not what's happening in the US. Your money is just being taken back by the same people who created it in the first place. Good news though they constantly create more of it than they take bakc so the pot of money available to everyone keeps getting bigger and bigger. Who cares what they decide to spend it on? Each new expenditure makes the pot available to all of us bigger. If they want to pay private businesses to give everyone healthcare why is there a huge problem with that? Get in a business providing the Healthcare or get in a business that the Healthcare providers buy from or don't. If you are willing to work plenty of that money will keep flowing through your hands either way. If you're not willing to work, they will create a little of that money and send you enough to get by too. This is a great country if everyone would just quit being a$$holes and acting like someone else's prosperity or handout is costing them something. It doesn't cost you anything. Not $.01. Your taxes don't pay for it and you're taxes are not needed to sustain it. Your taxes only serve as the glue that makes the $ legitimate. If they didn't collect taxes from you in $'s you could start using Bitcoin or something and then everything would fall apart. Once we start down that path then governments have no power because their true power is in creating currency that's it. They create the money and we use the money.

Socialism is bad in every sense of the word because it exploits people's ignorance/greed/emotions into making them believe that it's good, for the greater good, and that it would work, improve the lot of the common man.

It does none of those things because it cannot; it is built on a flawed framework of lies and impossibilities where its true goal has nothing to do with what it professes to accomplish.

The democratic concept of man is false, because it is Christian. The democratic concept holds that . . . each man is a sovereign being. This is the illusion, dream, and postulate of Christianity.

Marxism <> Socialism

Do you support the police? Public education? The military? All of those are socialist institutions. Marxism is collectivism meaning there is no ownership or property. That's a totally different concept than socialism. Socialism is just the government paying for things that benefit society.

That’s not socialism either.

Socialism, in its basest form, is the ownership of the means of the production by the community as a whole. It’s a reorientation and reorganzation of production, consumption and exchange.

Marx defines socialism as a transitional State between Capitalism and Communism.

I was born in a socialist country, I am aware of what it means.

You are confusing public works and services with socialism, and you are confusing a social welfare state like they have in Europe, which is not socialism and not what american leftists actually say what they want. The American leftist is Marxist, from Bernie on down to antifa rioters to losers in academia, they are Marxist in every real sense.

Most of them don't actually know or understand what that means fully, and indeed part of that is social media convincing you taht socialism is something which can be denuded from the ideas of idiot Franco-German intellectuals who invented it, like Marx.

If you understand the philosophy, and you understand mathematics and politics, then you know that it cannot.

The government cannot pay for anything without first taking from someone, so it is that someone who pays, directly or directly. To support the so-called free stuff that benefit society in the European welfare states, a massive tax is levied on everyone who is gainfully employed beyond 15k per year, and everyone else too by more indirect means like VAT.

The effect this has it leaves the average European much poorer than their American counterparts with the only real benefit being an absence of the type of abject poverty you find on Skidrow. There is no free lunch, the failures of capitalism are more linked with what you said, socialism in the form of the government central banks paying for things that benefit society. Income inequality is "solved" in Europe by making everyone much poorer than they should be, but closer together so you don't have the jealousy and envy you do here, and you don't have scapegoat moronic ideologies like wokism until now at least, there's a reason why APple, Facebook, Amazon and basically everything else you can think of is American and not European, and taht reason is American free enterprise and catipalism, for all it's faults, is the greatest achiever of communist and socialist goals that socialism, under whatever definition you might like to use, could ever hope of being.

No, he wouldn't that's the point I am making.

He's much further left than European social-democrats. He is a communist, a marxist and as extreme as it gets, it's just not palatable to the American voter so he can't self-identify as one.

European politics aren't as left/right binary as they are here, most social democrats in Europe are communists too and there are active communist parties still, but most everyone, even conservatives and other centre/left parties like christian democrat party support a welfare state due to a variety of post world ward 2 reality reasons.

What's happening here/now is the development of a quasi permanent underclass, and that's not good, which is being blamed on capitalism by so-called anti-fascists, who are in full reality communist anti-capitalists.

Going socialist ( a term which should be just as derided as national socialist, were it fully understood) is unAmerican and throwing the baby out with the bath water; it fails to recognize that the entire reason we are as rich as we are, the entire reason so much poverty/suffering has been removed from this world, is because of American post world war 2 capitalism.

No, I'm not... I am well versed in this subject, could talk forever on it, and speak from direct experience.

Socialism will not make your life or anyone else's better (short of the destitute), doesn't matter what they told you, how they crunch the numbers or what books they wrote.

I'm aware that there's a socialist pro-communist opinion, and it's riddled with irrational thinking and bad logic, not rooted in reality whatsoever, even by the most eminent liberal Marxist economists, and that's who they are admittedly... the Berkley economists who devised Warren's economic plan are admitted Marxists, Bernie never released a full plan just hand waved "it will work!"

They are liars, ideologues who take advantage of the public's ignorance and hope.

There's a reason the average American is something like five times richer than the average European, which is the best apples to apples comparison that exists, compare EU to US. You want to have your cake and eat it too, you'll end up with neither, dreaming for the actual cake you once had in a lost American dream you failed to realise was unique and every bit as attainable as ever before.

(presuming it ever occurred, I don't think a move to the radical left ever actually succeeds here without war)

People on the right think that anything that isn’t radical right is socialism

You don't know what socialism is, what Marxism is, what communism is, or why those are radical and antithetical to foundational American values. Since you are radical left, everything to the right of you appears something that it is not.

I am a liberal, center left, voted for Barry, afterwards realized he was a Marxist because he is.

Your's is a flawed unAMerican worldview as far as I can tell from your postings, you know next to nothing, worse still what you think you now is woefully incorrect. The worldview you have cannot achieve what it says it can, never has and never will. It's a house of cards that only people who know nothing believe in other than the hubris of its creators who think they know everything (like Marx) and can centrally plan and control evertyhing.

There's a Marxist revolution taking place right now and you don't know it... over the span of a decade and half or whatever we went from John Edwards's two Americas which is true, tosome new wokist religion of intersectional identity politics in a heirarchy of systemic oppression, which is Marxist, false and patently absurd like every bit of the ideology is.

Ok, bub

I don't care who you do or do not take seriously. I'm not trying to persuade you or impress you, but Marxist is not a serious position, no.

I'm willing to go in to details beyond "anecdotes," explain in complete and thorough detail whythe ideology is evil, why/where it's being promoted overtly/covertly,why the radical left is every bit as dangerous as the radical right, with anyone willing to have good faith dialogue. If you aren't interested or otherwise capable of conversation maybe some of your Marxist friends can come have it for you.

I'll walk circles around them too. It's actually very easy to do, there's 200 years of evidence now proving them they are wrong, they just don't have either the integrity or the intellectual capacity to understand why.

They wouldn't be laughing, they'd get pissy, just like you... like Marx did in his day, and there's reasons for that too.

How this go to a debate about Socialism and Marxism from being about too many people not pulling out during coitus?

Hell they are popping out to many babies in Brazil. So they have to clear more rain forest for farm land which causes more global warming,

You didn't prove anything other than your own ignorance and unwillingness to meaningfully engage, just like the other useful idiot, laughing face laughing face... is really pissy face, pissy face... and you know it.

Nevertheless, I'd still be willing to explain it to if you wanted to do any work by actually typing anything of real substance. I can prove these things rather easily but it takes a little typing time, yes.

no, you are out of your league obviously. Barry is a self proclaimed centrist, that's why I voted for him, but he did Marxist things because he's in fact a Marxist, and it's demonstrable. The new radical left is socialist, post housing crisis( a problem compounded by their own arrogance and ignorance) and very easily demonstrated such

all leftists (Marxists whatever), are wasting your lives in bitterness on a bunk ideology you can't fully comprehend.
