Football team sucks. Girard is shooting really well in practices and exhibition games. Going to be hard to keep him out the lineup. Especially if Jalen Carey craps the bed.

My dad (huge KU fan) came out to visit for the game. He’s here til the 12th. First time we’ve watched a KU/Duke game together since the 1991 championship game (I was 8) that we can remember. One of us is going to be smiling a whole lot more than the other for the rest of his visit. I’m taking Tuesday and Wednesday off from work and we’re eating Thanksgiving dinner on Tuesday bc my wife doesn’t eat most of the fixins for thanksgiving so it always ends up being me cooking a huge meal for myself. Hot apple cider and rum will hopefully help if the game doesn’t go well.
I usually go to the gym after work so I'll watch the game there. I'll be the one cursing on the eliptical machine.
To keep them out of foul trouble we need to double the post every time. Big to big double and make Azubuike get rid of it
If they were gassed then that's just ridiculous. Not one played 20 minutes. Shelden Williams played 19 and fouled out. He was barely on the floor. Okafor literally didn't score until we damn near had no center out there. C'mon man. You're not making sense.

Have I told you guys about the kid that sits at the pew across from me that uses his own version of the pick and roll? He usually does one of two things after the pick and roll. He right away slams dunk it right into his mouth or thumps onto the floor. So far I've seen no signs of a dribble. If so I don't want to see where he drives that dribble.
OFCI agree that this is a crucial season for Baker to be in the rotation. We have a ton of wings next year; even more if one of Moore/Stanley come back. I am more hopeful after the last game; think he will get some looks against KU.

Thank you for listening in! I won’t be getting in the middle of your beef with Hokie, but I’ll address my “insane” take.
Duke played pretty much exactly how i expected, i think i was within a couple points of what i thought we would score. I thought we’d struggle to score much more than 65-70pts, which is what we did. I don’t think we have the offensive cohesion or shooters. That was more or less accurate. However, where i was dead wrong-I was not prepared for KU being that poor- turning it over 28 times. Granted we can attribute many of them to our defense which is nice. I’m happy that i was wrong about that, and to be perfectly honest, i don’t pretend to know much about KU coming into the season.
Getting defensive because you know what it was. Take your lick. You like hedging bets.
Kansas has no shooters. That’s why I knew we would win. Defense can be seen regardless of competition and we looked great defensively in the exhibition games. NWMS just hit a lot of contested 3s at the end and Goldwire was part of that problem. He took his foot off the gas surprisingly. There was no way Coach K was going to let them beat us with their bigs. Their perimeter isn’t that good to scare anyone either. Kansas is worse than they were last year easily.
I don’t know what’s up with your boy though. He mad because I called him out for hedging his bets. He said one thing then changed because you had your take. Then he comes on here and tell me how our bigs would get tired and Kansas would have all this energy in the end of the game. He double talking

Again, congrats on knowing more about KU basketball than i do. I don’t pretend to be an expert on Kansas hoops, especially before they’ve played a game. I do make my predictions on what WE do though and as i mentioned i was pretty much accurate on what we’d do.
We were Very inefficient offensively- we made the same amount of shots as Kansas on 14 more attempts, and we were even worse than they were on FTs.
Secondly, their lack of shooters or ability to beat us with their bigs- they shot 4/9 from three, small sample size but anything in the 40+% is solid. Compared to our 8/24 (as mentioned we don’t have the shooters- as of yet anyway). They did shoot poorly from the line but most of that came from their bigs.
Speaking of the bigs, They also out rebounded us by 10 and they shot 46% from the floor (to our 36%), that, and by their lack of 3pt attempts would suggest to me that they take everything inside to utilize their bigs.
luckily our defense was really solid and they were admittedly sloppy. 28 turnovers is an insane amount- i bet we don’t turn another team over that many times the rest of the year and I’d venture to guess they don’t have that many either, but I’m not a KU expert.
Me too Dirt. I don’t care if we shoot 10% and look crappy doing it. The bottom line is we won and I’m damn happy this morning. There’s a win column and a loss column. There is no in between.
I’d much rather have learning moments and adjustments after wins than losses that’s for sure. It was our first game, wasn’t pretty but I WILLLLLL TAKE IT! Go Duke!
That much is true. There are failures to draw from in that game. They’ll have a lot of good tape to look at.
You don’t have to be an expert. All you have to do is actually watch them. It doesn’t take long. Plus people that have watched ball for awhile know how Bill Self likes to play. People write off exhibitions but it tells you things about what teams are practicing and how they will play at the beginning. We aren’t expected to be a super efficient team. But it’s a fact we play defense and we can score enough to win. One person that’s always efficient is Cassius. Every single time he has hit the floor in a game setting he has been efficient. So I wasn’t surprised by him. We have enough talent to score 70 on people. Our defense will always have us in position to win
