Can you imagine how much UM is pulling for anyone not named MSU right now?

There is no way that clown believes such a dumb 17ing statement. If the Bears don't care about Omaha, why even field a baseball team...

That's funny, considering they just made multi-million dollar investments to their program and stadium, they talk about having top 5 national attendances, and 80% of their fanbase wants to fire Bianco for not getting them to Omaha. If any UM fan says "who cares about Omaha?", they are so unbelievably full of **** that it's coming out of their mouth.

UM is all about baseball until they start going downhill and we start threatening for a national title; then it's back to jerking off over 13 year old junior high football players and the party line goes to is "Who cares about baseball when we've got crootin'?"

I would be lying if I said I was rooting for y’all to win, but I will say that the past two games have probably been as close as I could ever come to pulling for MSU. I'm not a huge baseball fan and haven't really watched MSU until the past two games, but y’all have a good team that’s fun to watch. It's hard to dislike guys like Rea, Holder, Renfroe, etc. I didn’t grow up pulling for UM or MSU, but there was a time when I was an MSU baseball fan because my high school baseball coach played there and y’all had the best program in MS. I had teammates who ended up playing for MSU. I just can’t muster the same animosity towards MSU baseball as I can for football, probably for several reasons. I for one will not be the least bit upset if y’all win. Call BS if you want. No, I don't want to hold hands and sing Kumbaya or anything.

I do hope that if y’all win it all one of your fans waves an “Ole Miss At Home Again” flag and that within 10 minutes someone posts an anti-UM rant on here. I derive great pleasure from these things.

Exactly, who cares about Omaha when you've got, what, 6 or so state recruiting titles in a row? (but 1 out of the last 4 wins, and we all give thanks for the '08 defeat to get rid of Crooms) Then there's always that "We won the party" thingy, and never leave out The Grooooooooooooooove

Don't 17ing worry about them.

You just give them a reason to make our success about them in some perverse way. Use this success for ammo on a rainy day, but in the meantime enjoy the ride and don't worry about what's going on in Oxford.

However, it will be damn funny if the NC series is MSU/LSU. Their universe might actually implode.

Literally every ole miss fan I've come into contact with has said positive things about state in Omaha with some of them even outright cheering for state

to me as well. I wasn't really expecting it. I think after we won our regional it wasn't a big deal to them , then we beat UVA and their attitude went from we don't care to "who cares, they wont do anything once they get to Omaha". Now after we've gone 2-0 the excuses have run out . I think most think we very well might win it all. Ive even had a few OM fans tell me they have watched both of our CWS games in their entirety.

This part is simply untrue. There is not a single one of them, deep down, who are really cheering for us. Unbelievable that you buy that. They hate us more than we hate them, they just don't want us to know it. That's who they are.

I've noticed that most UM fans are saying they are happy for us, but it just seems very hollow. Much like a mechanism to keep themselves from being too 17 upset about our success.

I feel like IF, IF, we were to to win the NC, they would scramble to down play its significance. The NC would be the first in the state from the big three sports. Ever. That's big. Good for us bad for them. I don't see them being very happy about it.

MSU's athletic department instantly gets national credibility if we win this thing... something neither school has had for a while. Whether they like or care about baseball, us winning a national title is a horrible thing for them.

I'm not going as far to say that it will affect our football team or basketball team, but it won't hurt having a national championship trophy on campus. Won't hurt being able to tell every perspective recruit in anything (softball, golf, who gives a 17) that we were one of the few schools to win a major sport this year.

Believe it or not, a lot of kids who play other sports like baseball too. Especially in Mississippi.

I've experienced one or two and it just wan't genuine. It's like if they can say "I'm rooting for yall!" you can't be an a*hole to them. It's a defensive maneuver. Lord knows that if an Ole Miss fan said something on the opposite spectrum of "I'm rooting for yall!" I would light their *** up with every insult in the book.

There are some who appear to be legitimately pulling for us. Here is a thread from an RebelGrove that shows that. Of course it also shows the other side too.

I go into the game rooting against them...

Then about the fifth inning I find myself rooting for them...I like their style...They never quit, They're clutch

I don't and won't lose sleep if they win or lose...

I've adopted NC State as my team, I really like Rodon and how he plays...I think State winds up playing for it, but I don't think they beat the other side of the bracket...

Eeh...NC State and UCLA are very capable..

Rodon can beat anyone...and I mean anyone...Like the Atlanta Braves...

Plutko is very good..Especially in that Part, their closer is just as good as State's and their number 2 pitcher (Van tunglin?) is solid...My money is definitely on the other side of the bracket, no matter who wins that side

I think Oregon State will give State hell, however..

Remember Only 7 times in the last 25 years have there been no second game forced... I think Oregon State forces a second game

Every team left in the CWS can beat any team left in the CWS. I guess some people just freak out about MSU that they tend to overhype them.

I'm interested to see if State's starting pitching can continue to hold the other team down for the bullpen. I wonder if they go with Bracewell. Nobody else has done that well lately.

Indiana couldn't beat State again..Oregon State could beat them twice

If Indiana beats Oregon State, I don't think they have enough pitching to beat State twice

State is built for the ball park.

The rest of the teams at some point have relied on the long ball. State relies on clutch hitting and once they get a lead, the game is over. Their pen is untouchable.

Cohen and his coaching staff has done a masterful job with their pitchers.

This is the only problem that I have with this post... Numbers are bs...

18 of 48 over the past 24 years have forced a deciding game 3 in the CWS "pool" finals. 12 of those have gone on to win their pools the next day. Only 4 of them have gone on to actually win the CWS...

I was cookin, drinkin beer, and pullin for the dawgs at my best MSU buddy's house last night. Woke up with the fathead...but I will admit that I'm not a big baseball fan, so that might be a reason. If this was football and ya'll were close to the NC, I'd probably have a different attitude

I've always just looked at all of the posts on here and never bothered to make an account and post on here, because I didn't think that my rookie status would allow me to be taken seriously. But I cant help it this time. I know quite a few bears, as all of you surely do, and I honestly think that they are (for the most part) pushing the rivalry aside to cheer for the state. Not to mention we have one hell of an inspiring team this year, and it would be hard for anyone to cheer against us right now. The statement that we are making right now is getting us HUGE national publicity. It's like OM's horribly unlikely recruiting class, only in baseball, and we're actually doing something with what we've got. If we make it to the NC, and, God willing, win this dang thing, ESPN and the rest of the media world will be spending the entire offseason marveling at our accomplishment. That's going to bring the bears publicity just because they're our rival. Because of this year, time recruits are gonna start looking at us, and then when they visit, they're probably going to run over to Oxford just for the heck of it, just like they will in Starkville with football. There's a reason Auburn recruits so well even when they're Alabama's play-thing every single year (except for the one year when they bought a Cam-pionship), and I'm willing to bet their in-state rival has a little to do with it.

They are just as guilty as us on this, but we've got to stop bringing them up whenever something happens. We're better. That's it. No need to stop and compare the two after every little thing happens. I honestly don't give a **** what any of them think about us.
