Canes had been playing pretty well but got dominated in latter half of 3rd. Season may come down to this OT. Gonna be an uphill climb to say the least if they go down 0-2 with both losses at home.

Horseshoe starting to slip from Montreal's sphincter. Two straight domination games where luck and refs help the Canadians but still get it done. Love it.

Welcome to the series, Hurricanes power play. This one might be coming back though. Not enough to tell if that puck comes out, IMO.

I have watched the playoffs for 5-6 years and understand the game, but how do I learn to watch to see which players are playing well other than the obvious assist or goal?

Depends on what you're watching for. Solid defensemen aren't necessarily scoring highlight reel goals like Gretzky or McDavid, but they block shots, and make good passes out of the defensive zone to lead to offensive rushes. Jaccob Slavin on the Hurricanes (74), is one of the strongest and most underrated D-men in the league.

Good forwards will generate scoring chances, even if they're not flashy, and get the puck deep and establish physicality on the forecheck.
