Can't help but think that the Who Dat's are setting themselves up...

Sharper and Smithwere onSportscenter talking about hitting the qb hard every play. All paraphrased... It's not just about the sack. Sometimes the hit is better when he doesn't have the ball. When asked about Peyton going down on his own instead of taking the sack... We will fall on him if he goes down.

The refs will be watching out for Peyton and flags will fly if the play is even close to a late hit. You could tell the Saint's defense was going after the qb, but I disagree with actually saying that you are coming to punish him. Nothing good comes from that.

and they won't mind picking up a few 15-yard penalties on the way. Not smart at all. Like you said, it's one thing to say it privately, but don't announce it to the world. As you say, you can bet the refs will be on notice to protect Peyton.

He is too good for that. Gets rid of the ball.

The Colts will have some short route alternatives and dump-off's dialed up. Of course the pressure may still lead to some Colts punts which would be just as good.

it is a head game at this point... We know peyton is protected by the league, just like brady is... did you see the jets hit him last weekend and peyton got up looking for a flag...

I think it is all to get in Peyton's head and see if they can rush his throws... if he gets two drives or so and you don't see him panic we will unleash hell on peyton... We can get to the QB it may be late, but we can get there...

Ask Warner, Favre, McNabb, Eli, Sanchez... we have be beating QB all year... we have been getting stupid penalties, too

Ppl should take notice just because our offense is good, doesn't mean we have a soft defense... I don't think you can say that for the colts...

I agree with Troy Polamalu, it has gotten to where you aren't allowed to even tackle the QB. Just look at Troy Aikman arguing about the personal foul on Brett last week. He was talking about the tackle and made the statement "that is how they teach you to tackle in peewee football". You aren't allowed to tackle the QB, just push him down but not too hard.

But to go on television and claim you are going to hit the qb hard every time despite the chances of getting a 15 yard penalty is a bad idea. During the same segment they showed the high/low hit on Brett Favre and the "Bill Goldberg Spear" they did get penalized for. There's a difference in going after the QB hard every play late hit or not versus telling the media you are going after the QB hard late hit or not. Watch Super Bowl Sunday, the refs will be looking for any excuse to call personal fouls on the Who Dats after all this attention.
