Am starting to look at car insurance for my kid. Quote I got with current company we have was pretty high. Recommendations on carriers?

Is it legal or not to just not put them on your policy for a vehicle and they drive it?

Car Insurance has gone up, like everything else. Its very possible the rate you saw was fairly normal.

I made the switch to Progressive. The other companies weren't even close. I have a 19 y.o. on our policy, FWIW.

As a follow up, minimum coverage does not mean minimum liability. There have been a number of cases where a teen did something incredibly stupid behind the wheel that resulted in someone else’s kid getting seriously hurt or killed founding litigation where the injured/deceased sued the parents of the driver for amounts beyond minimum coverage. If you ever have more than minimum coverage it should in the very least be when you are insuring a young driver.

It will be expensive no matter what until your child is mid 20s.

Put the kid in a beater sedan with 150K miles on it. No sports cars, trucks or SUVs. (Seriously, buying a 16 year old a new car is the dumbest thing a person can do.)

Some states offer slight discounts for driver’s education. I would recommend as much liability as you can afford to avoid litigation in the event of an accident, and no collision coverage on the older car. That’s how my folks did for me.

With a caveat that you are buying the beater outright, no bank loan.

Banks will most times(I don't know the exception) require full coverage to protect their investment.

Should always get an umbrella policy to cover both your premise liability and auto. Min $1M but it today’s environment probably $2M. The higher you go the more the attorneys go after.

Car insurance for teens is important to ensure safety and financial protection while they gain driving experience.
Regular maintenance from a trusted hyundai service center dubai can also help keep insurance costs lower by reducing risks.

Car insurance for teens helps protect young drivers while they build confidence and experience on the road.
Adding extra protection like ppf abu dhabi can also help keep the car looking new and reduce repair worries.

Car insurance for teens is essential to protect young drivers as they learn and gain confidence on the road.
Regular checkups like Car Electrical Service help keep the vehicle reliable and may prevent unexpected issues.

When I was a teen, the vehicle was in my father's name and he carried the insurance under his name. Now, if I had a wreck, he may have lost that coverage. Luckily i was a pretty good driver. I can't imagine how much full coverage would be for a teenager nowadays. Btw, I'm with Geico.and they have always been reasonable and fair. You may get some that's cheaper initially with other carriers like State farm, but they will raise them a.lot over time and will cancel you if you look funny if their algorithm decides you are a liability. Crap company imo.
