Louisville Women's Basketball brings in FSU and Seminole Sue Semerau Thursday night to the KFC YUM Center for a little later than normal start -- 8 pm. The game will be on the ACC Network, (unless the Chris Mack saga explodes and loyalists storm the Little YUM and form a counter-insurgancy. (OK, that probably isn't going to happen)...

FSU comes a calling with a 9-8 record and are 3-4 in the ACC. This isn't your usual powerhouse Noles squad,...needing to make a late run to get by Clemson last time out. Losing to Wake Forest raises some questionns and the aspect of the Noles making the NCAA Tournament look pretty remote.

The. Noles do have some threats in former high school All-American Sammie Puisis, Morgan Jones, River Baldwin and Bianca Jackson. Freshmen Mikayla Timpson and O'Mariah Gordon have been impressive so far. Still, this is an FSU team that did lose to Miami two back the NOLES are 0-6 in Q1 games.

Louisville looks to do a couple of things to cruise in this one. They need to avoid the final quarter sleepwalking that we've seen in the past two games. The Cards also need to hit the boards hard against a pretty inept Noles rebounding team.

That block by Dixon long pass by Robinson and a layup by A. Smith looked really good.

Is anyone else having trouble with rivals? I have been trying to get on and it keeps giving me an error. Also I keep getting messages for a free 30 day trial and I am already a member.

The key to this team is Cochran and Chelsea Hall. We need better PG play from her. We know what we are going to get with Emily and HVL.

Well I missed the first half turn on the tv at halftime with 11 point lead and we immediately start giving up points. I might have to turn the game off

FSU is a one player team Morgan Jones for them is a great player. If they had a better team she could get more recognition and get player of the year in the ACC.

PG is the team flaw. If we had a good shooting point guard, we could win it all. Robinson and Hall are liabilities shooting the ball.

I thought as a whole we were not on our game offensively multiple players struggled tonight. Dixon is lookin better every game Cochran struggled early but got things going later.

Robertson and Hall are great point guards. They find their sisters, deliver the ball and then rush back to play solid defense. I could care less if they make a basket and if they do it is a true plus for the team. BTW Kasa had 4 steals. 4 assists, 2 rebounds off the bench and oh yeah - 9 points. Love this TEAM and I do believe it’s heart and soul is our girl from Ashland, Ky.

Great win.
-Getting more production from our 5's last night was the difference.
-Kiana and HVL tough night shooting. HVL playing too many minutes (38 last night) and may be affecting her shooting. Kiana finally hit couple of shots, but the FSU bigs troubled her on drives.
-Emily is a monster and big surprise with her 3 point shooting.
-We don't win without Mykasa last night, I'm starting to get depressed about her Senior Night.

-Morgan Jones for FSU was brilliant. I thought the mid range jumper was obsolete, but she showed what a weapon it is.

Let’s not say liabilities but rather scoring is not their strengths. Kasa had a career high of 9 points and I will take that every game plus her defense.

I like HVL as a true PG. However, on this team she doesn’t fill that role. I think if she is able to one day play professionally her position will be PG. That being said - I agree, HVL could have sat for a few more minutes. Would have liked to see more Verhulst. Hall and Robinson do what they are supposed to do. Whatever points they provide are icing on the cake. What I am seeing improvement-wise is some of the quick, intuitive passes which end up in easy baskets. Didn’t see much of that early on in the season. This is a solid ‘team’ - you can’t just focus on shutting down one player. Lastly, the more consistent our ‘5s’ are defensively and offensively the better the team will operate as that frees up our perimeter players to work more freely.

Actually ulcards and Bardman are agreeing with Walz about the minutes played by HVL. He mentioned that he played HVL a few more minutes than he should have in the interview right after the game. That being said, he also stated that HVL competed in all 38 minutes she played. Competitiveness in his players is what he seeks from each. Whether they score well or not (which seems to be the measuring stick by most fans), Jeff wants them to always be tough in defense and participate hard in the offense even when the shots are not falling.

This team does not seem to have any players that "take time off" during the game.

Maybe it has to do with Konno being out. She plays the 2 often.

In the games against sUcK and UConn HVL sat out more than normal. When she came back in during the 4 period she hit 4 big shots towards the end in both games to seal the victories.

The level of competition dictates the energy exerted over the course of the game. I remain convinced the 4th quarter meltdown at NCST was a direct result of the excessive amount of minutes and energy that our starters gave in the first 3 quarters. Fatigue saps the legs first and the reaction time secondly …….. our girls were exhausted.
