Pope didn’t offer mingo. Mingo considered 21 schools, Kentucky wasn’t one. We can’t literally buy them. It’s not the 1800s.
Mingo seems like a square peg. I'm sure he can do well somewhere, but that somewhere probably isn't here. Can't shoot. Lazy handling. We don't run a dribble drive. Going after the most athletic team we could get went over about as well as diarrhea in a space suit.
I'll take fit over just about anything because that first Pope team was fun as hell to watch.

Bringing this dude in would be like Cal getting Wiltjer. Completely stylistically mismatched. An absolute waste of money because he's a top prospect and would command top dollar, but a prospect who cannot function in our offense, nonetheless. He has a 3pt% in the low 20s.
We already have enough trouble driving without defenders sagging off our perimeter players, IMO.

A weird gait? As in the way he walks? They're really all over this guy's nuts with a scouting report if they're going that deep with it. Does he chew with his mouth open and have a lisp too?

If he's legitimate top talent he would not consider Pope and ky at all this has already been established a hundred times over. We are totally screwed as a basketball program till Pope is gone.
