There is one very big positive: First time in a long time... Carolina outdoes Clemson in Coordinator hire. Unless CU brings in Art Briles to run the offense, we have the advantage on their OC hire.
I know we should look at OC vs. DC since they match up directly....and I still love our advantage there. Tom Allen is a fine DC, but he's no star coaching talent like K. Briles.

I would caution that the opposite was said 3 years ago.

They brought in the "name" OC and we went with some guy that likes "pro style".

Both sucked, and we even followed that up with an even suckier hire.

And 3 years later we're both searching for a new OC.

I wouldn't call what we saw out of Sellers/Rocket Sanders "pro style" or sucky. If App St hadn't of hired Dowell, we might still have him as our OC. 🤔

Art Briles was just hired as Division II, Eastern New Mexico coach, in late Nov, as head coach. They are the Greyhounds in case you are wondering

Sanders did a lot with a crappy OL, but i still think Loggains's offense seemed to be to run up the middle, then wait for Sellers to do something on third and long when the play breaks down. ( i know, and oversimplification.)

But yeah, he could still probably be here, and we probably would have been in a bowl if he had.

The Clemson's little brother complex is reaching new heights when people start comparing OC hires and claiming a "win" before either new OC calls a play.

lol- well "those" that said it should've done their homework. 'That' Riley (Garrett) was about a year or two removed from being a semi-anonymous App State RB coach. His last name got him the next two jobs...unlike K. Briles' last name.
Loggains wasn't a home run hire despite what was circulated amongst small groups. As I've stated before....best coordinator hire since SOS was hired as HC and he brought himself to run the offense.

I know Art was recently hired. My mention of him waas kind of a joke because I think CU will miss the mark talking about bringing in re-treads like Chad Morris who lifted much of the Briles stuff as well as some others for his offensive use.

Briles has been at the forefront of developing the offense you have run at CU for the last 15 years. Take one of those NFL flameout OCs....that'll work perfectly.
The OC you will get will have a built-in advantage (schedule and conference) but it likely won't help enough.

Which Briles? :) kidding, because we've had this conversation before about the RPO and who was really at the forefront of it.

But seriously, are we calling Piscis a tater now?

I am anything but a Clemson fan. I am, however, realistic about how some gamecock fans (you) are obsessed with Clemson to the point of near mental illness.

No one likes it, but Clemson owns us in football and fans who desperately grab onto "wins" in the most pathetic places make SC fans look like the joke a lot of our rivals make fun of.

There was a good bit of biching and moaning when Clemson picked up Riley. Only time will tell...
