With the guy they have running the show now, they are Memphis. That went from a winnable tossup to one we should get.

Wow, if we can somehow beat Georgia, we may be 4-2 with UAB, Kentucky and Ole Miss remaining on the schedule. And I still feel like we are going to get a big one (Florida or Arkansas, not Alabama).

we will make the freshman 3rd string QB look like a 17ing senior hesiman candidate, or like Keenum, however you like it.

Hate it for Keenum and the backup, makes me think they got some bad mojo from visiting the burial ground last year.

I am not a sheep. I never thought we would win more than 7 this year. Currently, I am wishing for 6-6, but not confident about it. However, there is no player in the country that means as much to their team as Keenum did to Houston. Not to mention they can't even rely on his backup. They have to go to the third string QB. We are not very talented at all for a SEC team, but imagine if we had to play our third string QB in any random year. Now imagine that same situation from a CUSA school.

We are at a slight disadvantage by playing an away game, but playing a pure passing team that is playing a 3rd string QB, I doubt we lose.

that means if we just play half-way decent ball we should come out of the first 8 at worst case 4-4 (additional wins over Houston, UAB and Alcorn). With Keenum the Houston game was probably a toss-up and we had the distinct possibility of being 3-5 if we lost to Georgia, Houston and Florida which I think would have wrecked the pysche of our team. But I just don't see us losing to Houston if they are forced to start a true freshman QB against us. If we can just find someway to pull out a win this weekend then we would be in excellent shape to get to 5-3 before the final 4 game stretch.

If we would have had to play LSU after this three game stretch we're heading into, and we were 4-1 and lost to LSU, no one would think much about it.

Georgia is the first must win game of Mullen's tenure. We have got to find a way to win this one and get to 4-2 heading to Gainesville. UAB is a definite win, and we should get at least one of Kentucky or Ole Miss.

I still think we get Florida or Arkansas this year - not Alabama. Florida is going to lose one they shouldn't - that could be us, and Arkansas is a hurt QB away from being a 4-8 team. Our defense isn't the problem.

1. We REALLY need more 3 and outs -- even though we are normally stopping folks before they score (especially TDs) we are still way too often allowing the opposing team to flip the field position before they have to punt putting our offense into a hole in starting field position.

2 We need more turnovers -- our defense didn't force enough meaningful turnovers against Auburn or LSU. We got the muffed punt from Auburn on special teams but our defense has only gotten the one pick in the end zone against Auburn over last 2 games while the game was still in doubt. The Broomfield drop of the pick 6 against Auburn is probably the biggest single play of the year that could have turned our fortunes from 1-2 to 2-1.
