Does this mean Cincy, USF and UConn don't still have the Big East to fall back on if they can't find a new home? Surely not, but it kind of reads that way. Got to like Pitino for telling the truth. The basketball schools should have broken away a few years ago.

there's no "big east", but the former big east CFB programs previously invited a bunch of C-USA level programs, like memphis, into the conference. in reality, i'd imagine cincy and uconn will be fine once the ACC gets poached again by the SEC/big 12/big 10, they'll land there. not sure about usf though, since they have minimal history and are more of a commuter school.

I think the Big 12 will eventually expand to 12. They should have taken Cincy and Louisville last year when they had the chance. If the ACC does lose anyone else, I think UConn to the ACC would be a lock.

Finally a reallignment that makes sense.

Once they lock down the Garden as their permanent tournament site, everything will be right in the world of college basketball - at least in the east.
