It is everything really. Talking up, "Sully," and just really talking up Florida the entire time as though they are already up big. They seem to mention us on passing and have spent the entire time talking about UF. Granted, they are the better team with an actual history an what not.
Kind of interesting really, UF has had an underwhelming year for the talent they have plus UF is a poor defensive team.

I think that play was a microcosm of our team... Florida with a great heads up play to kill a run. That isn't a play that UK makes even with our 'gold glove,' short stop. They are just coached better and have a better feel for the game.
Zero motivation to play today. They are just sleep walking out there.

UK goes down in order 1, 2, 3 with a couple strikeouts from Collett and Kessler.

Two quick outs for Harney and then hit plunks a batter. 0-2 and Harney hits another.

Everything with Mingione is a cliche. "So much adversity." "We're a family." Saying a lot while saying nothing.

Rhodes hit on the elbow to give UK a leadoff base runner.

Plastiak strikes out swinging.

Ritter blasts one up the middle past the diving short stop to put runners at 1st and 2nd with 1 out.

Lewis tried to bunt and popped up the first one, then went back to swinging and fouled off strike two. He strikes out swinging.

I was wrong, Rhodes was able to go first to third on that single up the middle and Ritter advances to second on a stolen base on that strikeout. Looked like Lewis was actually trying to protect as he went in motion.

Hill up and he hits one extremely hard to first and it eats up the first baseman, but he sticks with it and I think they get him at first. Just a half a beat. Hit it hard, but just right out the first baseman. They do call him out.

I’ve never seen Mingione with any intensity. He seems to be happy go lucky. Perhaps that’s why we play flat at times.

Harney might kill someone today with his 2 seam. Almost hit his fourth guy. Walks him instead.

Did I just see Ramsey going to the bullpen?
If so, Ming may want out of here just as bad as we want him out.

And Harney hits his FOURTH of the game on an 0-2 count and his 20th of the year in less than 50 innings.
I cannot even fathom how horrific that is. Embarrassing. Pathetic. Downright nauseating.
This is what makes this team 100% unwatchable.

Commentators, "How about this freshman class!? It's so talented!"

Meanwhile, UK has not had a single freshman really rise to the top as being someone they can rely on. Whether that is in the field or on the mound. That right there is a good example of another major problem for UK.

Kessler gets a two out hit and moves Schultz from first to third to give UK runners at the corners. UK once again gets a runner to third.

Rhodes got a hanging slider, but he got under it and fouled it back. He lines one down the line in left and UK gets on the board and UK has runners at second and third with 2 outs.

2-1

Good at bat for Plastiak as well as he works a full count walk to load the bases.

Go back and read all the off season stuff from the baseball program. Kessler was never mentioned anywhere about anything from Mingione. There was plenty of heaping praise on Rubalca though ( he’s a nice young man nothing against him ) on and on and on about Rubalacas defense and Kessler was never mentioned once anywhere. He was totally left for dead on the bench and had his role taken away. Today he is your 3 hole hitter. Think about that? Try and imagine you are a pitcher or a veteran on that team and you see that occur and then you know why the team morale is as low as it is. There’s other reasons , many others but that alone the players don’t like. Mingione thinks it’s all about himself.

Is it just me or does this ballpark look ”huge” on TV?

Is it because there is so much foul territory there that it makes an optical allusion out of it?

Well, UK got a break for a second as the UF catcher takes a Ritter pop up behind the plate, but he misplays it and doesn't throw the mask away to give Ritter extra life. Instead of taking advantage, Ritter pops up again, this time behind first, to end the T5 and UK threat.

2-1 UF B5.

Not only that, but the first person off the bench to replace Rubalcaba was actually Liebert. Liebert got a start or two before Kessler finally got the nod. We have basically not seen Liebert since... and we rarely see Rubalcaba.

Kessler is an interesting story... he struggled like crazy last year and Mingione stuck with him despite him hitting under .100. We all knew he could hit better, but he just wasn't and Mingione kept running him out there. Yet then we get to this year and rather than treating it like Mingione knows that Kessler can hit and giving him the chances to do so, he basically has him 3rd on the depth chart at catcher. It is very Jekyll and Hyde, but kind of in the opposite way it should have been.

UK gets a routine ground ball for a double play to Lewis, but he just can't get a grip on it and he throws it away and UK gets nothing. 0 outs with runners on first and second.

The bottom 3-4 kids for UK provide little, if any, offense most of the year. That’s a big reason we can’t score many runs.

More and more giving the game away.
Florida in control up 4-1. Feels like 9-1. And they are actually being outhit 7-4. Tells you all you need to know.

The bottom of the lineup with Hill and Lewis haven't been playing much of the season, less than 100 ABs this season.
The lineup we are seeing now is the result of their lack of defense most of the year. Defense wins games.
