That is shocking. Even with the disgraced show cause and all- I really would think he would hold off for a better opportunity.
He wants to get back into coaching, cool that makes sense seeing as how he is a coach, but Auburn? Keep the ESPN analyst gig and wait for an opportunity that allows him to succeed more.

Tennessee wasn't exactly an SEC basketball powerhouse when he joined them. He will do well at Auburn.
So SC gets Frank Martin, Auburn gets Bruce Pearl and we get an unknown assistant

It wasn't a powerhouse, but it was better than Auburn is now.
And he has shown he can win. He won at Southern Indiana, won at Milwaukee, and won at UT.
Since he has shown he can win big, recruit well, and energize a fan base, I really figured he would wait for a better situation- one he could walk into and succeed easier at. Even with the show cause, schools should line up for his talent.

Auburn is a sleeping giant in my opinion. They have big talent bases in Birmingham and Atlanta within 2 hours of campus and then they have good talent to recruit from in Montgomery, AL and Phenix City, AL/Columbus, GA area within about 30 minutes of campus. How they have struggled is beyond me. Pearl will get that ship turned fast.
