AB simply isn’t the type of player the Fever desperately needs on the interior as a C or interior post player. And the Fever can never get that type of player with 3 supermax contracts. They will have to make the difficult (don’t think it’s that difficult) to move on from AB. Problem s I actually think her trade value will continue to slip a bit as time goes on.

Shortsighted is trading away Boston because you think she's having a down year. Even though she's averaging a career high in points as the third option while playing the fewest amount of minutes per game of her career due to a nagging injury.

Kelsey is a 5'8 guard about to be 31, who has taken back to back one year deals and is an unrestricted free agent. So I'm not sure she should be viewed as a guaranteed long term building block of the future.

That’s not relevant. Again, it’s short-sighted. AB has been 10th or 11th in rebounding and shot blocks all year. For the 2nd best center in the league. Allegedly. It’s unacceptable and untenable for a team that desperately needs those two elements to elevate and succeed. She offers little defensive presence against athletic interior players. And she’s drifting on the perimeter more and more.

Regardless, the Fever can’t have 3 Supermax players and hope to build a title roster. Especially when one of the players offers very little of what the team needs to be a title contender.

I don't know where you're getting 2nd best Center in the league. I don't think anyone has claimed that.

She's tied for 8th in blocks, and 10th in rebounding. Aliyah was second team all defense last year and will likely be in the running for it again this year. She provides an interior defensive presence she's just not able to make up for the fact that the Fever have at least two or three below average to bad defenders on the court at all times.

I’m showing 10th blocks but regardless she doesn’t protect the rim and has little lift. I’ve she’s not the 2nd best center as you allude then even more reason to trade her.Shes gonna be paid like the best C

Tied for 8th in blocks on ESPN. Regardless 5-10 are separated by .3 blocks per game which is only a handful of blocks on the year.

She got paid like the best Center because she was up for a renewal first. In reality she's probably 4th or 5th. You're not going to trade her for anyone better.

Sure you are. Better means better fit. Fever aren’t winning a title with her on the “interior.”

I have to say that the fever are the perfect team for CC to pile up these impressive stats.

Kelsey just set points record...lot of assists for CC.
Highest scoring team in league..fast pace suits CC.
Guard centric system...lots of ball time and shots for CC.

I know that CC contributes heavily to all the above but being paired with Kelsey is as good as it gets . KM/ CC are dynamic....co- mvps

Kelsey wouldn’t be scoring anywhere close to this much without CC on the team. Kelsey was averaging about 18 points per game before CC joined the team and her average has increased to 19, 20, and now 25 since CC became a teammate. It is a lot easier to score more points with CC getting doubled teamed a bunch of the time and also having a PG that can constantly find you open while delivering the ball to the exact spot you want it.

The team wouldn’t be scoring anywhere close to this much without CC on the team. In 2023, the Fever were middle of the pack offensively scoring 81 points per game. Since then they’ve scored 85, 85, and now 97 points per game. Good for 3rd, 3rd, and 1st in the league.

The team wouldn’t be guard centric without CC on the team. In 2023 Boston and Smith as C and PF were the young centerpieces of a poor team that finished 7 games below .500. There’s a high likelihood that Smith is still on the team if CC never joined. And there’s a high likelihood that the team is still middling around never making the playoffs.

But yes, offensively KM is a good teammate to have in the backcourt for CC. We’ll see if she’ll be there next season though as Boston’s contract, combined with Lexi’s and Billings’s contracts are going to hamper the Fever’s ability to pay.

All these records being set....people need to also mention more games are being played than ever before.

And Thomas does have more assists than CC, but has played more games and CC is averaging more per game, which is what is important.
