***CC22 and the Fever mega thread***

Highlights:

Before Ruocco even mentioned it I already had said to my wife Caitlin is on pace for a triple-double (then had to explain what that meant!) but also that it's still early.

So most of the game I was "worrying" about that, then abandoned that in hopes of a 30-point double-double. No luck.

As a CC fan I'm too greedy! Kind of let that distraction keep me from enjoying a really good game by Caitlin. Her 4 steals were particularly impressive ... in my completely unbiased opinion.

I’m guessing some of the fever players saw the halftime lead and took the foot off the pedal to coast in the 3rd, not realizing that those bench players on the other side are playing for minutes and potentially contracts with other teams. Just like Ferentz struggling to hold a 2nd half lead because he turtles up on offense too early, you need to keep the foot on the gas until at least halfway through the 4th quarter.

Fever beat the #1 team in the league by 19 and people like Ludd just whined the entire time.

And you just griped about Clark the entire time, so there’s that. And more like they beat the #12 team since Minnesota tanked the game.

The Liberty play @ the Dream tonight. If the Dream win, then the Fever will be locked into the 5 or 6 seed and will be able to choose who they play in the playoffs, Dream or Aces. They could sit the starters and concede the final game @ the Lynx if they would rather play the Aces.

However, if the Liberty win tonight, then the Fever could beat the Lynx tomorrow to get the 4 seed and home-court advantage vs the Dream.

Where are you getting 26% of the minutes? Caitlin and Chelsey Gray both averaged a little over 19 minutes per game in the tourney.

CC didn't play well in her limited limited minutes in the first half. Gray was one of the few players for Team USA that did. Which lead to Gray getting more minutes in the first half.

To Caitlin's credit she hit a 3 right before halftime and played very well in the second half.

Just because she played 33% of a game instead of her usual 50% doesn't mean there was some grand conspiracy against her.

It's old guard coaching for the player playing better to get more minutes?

France went on a roughly 10-0 run when CC first entered the game. It wasn't all her fault but she did have a couple of turnovers and a badly missed shot. Should the coaches have let it get to a 15 or 20 -0 run before putting Gray back in just so Clark could have played more?

Clark was a mess in the 1H and had to be taken out and Gray was playing really well.

And what's your obsession as the "anti Clark"? You can't really tell me that Gray is a better player at this point in her career. It isn't even close. I've said all along that Clarks biggest issue in this type of setting was that bringing her in and out of the lineup in 4 or 5 minutes spurts doesn't allow her to be "her". Clearly we saw that during her minutes restrictions earlier in the season. So yes I think Lawson could have handled the lineups differently and the team as a whole would have played better throughout the six games. Obviously though, I'M the only one who thinks that, because I'm "obsessed".

But beat the Dream and you are facing a MN team that is out of sync and an injured Miles or a Liberty team that will struggle to handle Fever's pace...get to the finals and anything can happen. Both CC and KM have the ability to win games on their own and when both are playing well I like their chances against anyone.

Good grief man. She's been out for over a year recovering from the knee. She's not in the W yet. Give her a chance, and let's all see what she's got, and if the knee holds up. Not a fan of her or her team, but let's just see, shall we? Thank you.

She’s pretty inefficient. She’s a ball stopper and I’m not sure she’s a pt guard in the W. If she’s a 2 she’s going to have to shoot better than what she’s done in college. Agree with Legend on this one.
