This game was pretty much over by halftime with Centreville leading 42-7. Battlefield could not run the ball on Centreville today and Cville made way too many big plays for Battlefield to keep up. Turner had three touchdowns, one of them a 90 yard interception return, Tutt had a big catch downfield for a touchdown, and Richbourg had two long touchdown runs in the first half. Battlefield had opportunities in Cville territory when the game was still within reach in the first quarter, seemed like they tried to stick with the run throughout the first half but the RB for Battlefield was often stopped at the line or for little gain on most plays. BF tried a reverse on the second half kickoff but they fumbled away giving Centreville a short field to score and make it 49-7.

The only momentum Battlefield had, aside from scoring on their opening drive, came in the third quarter when they scored on a short touchdown run and returned a Cville fumble 60+ yards for scores to make it 49-21. They recovered a short/onside kick following their last touchdown to give them a much needed opportunity, but they fumbled it back to Centreville a couple plays later.

Between all the games played in 6A this weekend, little disappointed there were no upsets and none of the games were that close at all. Hope the region finals this week will be better games.

I think Centreville's starting offense scored touchdowns on all seven of their possessions. Boose didn't play, sprained knee according to the Post.

The key point in the game IMO was in the second quarter when Centreville was up 21-7, Battlefield had 4th and 1 from just inside the Centreville 10 and the running back last his footing and came up just short of the first down, Richbourg had an 83-yard touchdown run a few plays later and it was game over.

Yeah, that was a key stop. Battlefield really needed to score there. I wonder if Boose will be ready to go against Westfield?

I wonder if Boose, Turner, and Tutt will be ready to go against Westfield. Turner and Tutt were limping in the Battlefield game.
