What is the Gundy story? I thought they had Pickens money to blow like Oregon who has Knight money to spend.

I don't think they have the same amount of money as Oregon has.

Additionally, Ok State is to OU as Oregon State is to UO. No matter what they do, they will always be little brother to Big Brother.

Let me be the first to say this

T. Boone left $120 million to Ok State but none of it was allotted to NIL recruiting (probably wasn't even a consideration when he was making his last Last Will).

T. Boone Pickens' "will" is expressed through the actions of the
T. Boone Pickens Foundation, which made a $120 million gift to Oklahoma State University in 2023 to fund scholarships, the Human Performance Innovation Complex, and renovations to the Karsten Creek golf course. This gift was an extension of Pickens' decades-long relationship with OSU, where he donated over $500 million in his lifetime to support both athletics and academics, including the renaming of the football stadium to Boone Pickens Stadium.

Nothing makes a fanboy moist between the legs more than a good coach firing. Now, If Ok State has any good players the portal is open.

Sam Pittman is now available. I suspect Jerry Jones is behind this and about to throw some $$$ in someone's direction.

  • 2020: 3-7 (3-7 SEC play)
  • 2021: 9-4 (4-4 SEC)
  • 2022: 7-6 (3-5 SEC)
  • 2023: 4-8 (1-7 SEC)
  • 2024: 7-6 (3-5 SEC)
  • 2025: 2-3 (0-1 SEC)

Sam Pittman buyout

A clause in Pittman's contract makes his buyout more interesting. Pittman signed his contract after the 2021 season and the clause determines how much his buyout would be.

Pittman will be owed $9.3 million, according to his contract documents obtained by the USA TODAY Network. According to the clause, if Pittman had a record below .500 since 2021 by the end of the season, he would be owed $5.7 million. However, if his record since 2021 is .500 or better at the end of the season, he would be owed $8.5 million.

With a 29-27 record since 2021, Arkansas could have waited to see if Pittman would have lost more games to pay a lower buyout. But the Razorbacks had seen enough and decided to part ways.

The old "vote of confidence". That means he better win a few more games this year.
It's crazy ... all kinds of rumors. Now rumors that many of his assistant coaches are already talking to other programs for jobs and about leaving at the end of the year. I am sure UNC never expected this chaos around the program, were expecting an anchor for their program. This is quickly turning into a complete dumpster fire at UNC.

I never understood the hiring of Belichick. Sure the name recognition but nothing outside of it. He, at best would be a place holder until they got someone that they thought would be there awhile. I mean the guy is 73, has zero college coaching experience. Was floundering his last few years in New England, no NFL teams wanted him and seems to have the personality of paste. There has to be at least 5 younger up and comers that would have been better. When they got rid of Mack Brown they talked about finding someone younger to (hopefully) build the program, insert some excitement and energy. Which is what they need. Mack, I think is 74 so technically they got a younger guy. But I think they set the program back even more by hiring Belichick. It's like putting the the original cast of the Brady Bunch in a half hour prime time slot to win back ratings. It's just a bad idea.
They need to kick him to the curb and pick up one of these coaches that have come available that has potential.
