Condense it even more. Play it on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Saturdays of December, with championship game being on January 1 (if a week has elapsed since the semifinal) or on the first Saturday of January. This would be no later than January 5th.

I say expand to 16, do away with Conf Championship games and end the regular season on Thanksgiving weekend. Start the playoffs the first weekend in Dec.
