Looks pretty damn sharp on the mound.

I'm stunned at what he's done so far this season. Looks like a completely different guy. Never thought I would say that he can be a big help this season...especially in left on left matchups.

His location an pitch selection is what is most impressive. Hitters are having to earn contact. He will more than likely have an off day, but he's showing great stuff at the mound so far.

Stats for the year on Girodo.

6 1/3 IP, 12 K, 0 BB, 1 hit allowed, 1 HBP, opponent batting average of .046

Don't care who you play. Those numbers are fantastic and they show just how much better Girodo has gotten.

What also amazes me is that in 10 games, we have allowed 55 hits. That's an average of 5.5 hits per game. 16 total runs given up. 91 strikeouts. Batting average against is .177. The pitching staff is just ridiculous so far, and like another poster mentioned, we gave up 2 runs tonight and our team ERA went up to 1.30. You have to love the product we are putting on the mound right now.

Thanks for those numbers...good stuff. Did anyone else have that feeling after we scored 6 in the first, that the game was over? It's insane to feel like your pitching staff is so dominant that 6 runs in the first inning is damn near insurmountable for the opponent. Butch is a beast...and don't look now but the bats are rather lively, especially compared to last year. I think having competition at each position is helping our bats overall. Last year the depth wasnt there to push guys.
