I don't care what anyone says....this recruiting class of pitchers is not SEC material. Florida and other schools have freshmen that contribute regularly and can get people out. Our freshmen pitchers as well as our upper class pitchers are just awful. I don't see anyone who stands out as a freshman that just says "future MLB draft pick" to me. Those ERA's are embarrassing for any pitcher much less a college pitcher. I don't look for it to get much better next year unless we hire a pitching coach that really knows his stuff and gets our guys in order. Right now, these guys will get hit around the park again next year except we won't have the ability to score 10 or 11 runs in a game.

If you notice, we can score 10 or 11, but still lose. That is unacceptable on any level, but especially in the SEC. I get tired of hearing the "freshman" excuse. Dubose, Maholm, Jeremy Jackson, Papelbon etc did not get hit around like these kids do. I think it is time for Cohen to go get some kids who can pitch or if he really believes these kids can pitch then he must fire our pitching coach and go find one that can teach these kids the right way to pitch in college baseball.

Our Freshmen pitchers havent showed any progression as our season has gone on, and I put full blame of this on Butch Thompson. I agree that Cohen needs more time, but he has to fire Thompson to save his *** some of the grief hes been getting.

I think a lot of it has to do with being a freshman. Girodo is either pretty effective or he gives up homeruns. </p>

Girado has no nuts for not hitting the next hitter in the back after the 2nd HR...you dont need a coach for that...that tells me all I need to know

A pitcher that wont take command of the plate is a *****

I don't have feelings one way or another about Butch as a PC, but this post is the majority of the problem.

Baseball America should be shot for misleading our fans.

And the only possible immediate impact signee pitcher for next year got shelled by Auburn last night too.

Norris hasn't been dominate at the high school level, and the rest of them are either projects or had a coach who knew Butch. Hopefully some guys like Stark, Bradford, and Abraham can give up some innings.

I have no faith that a healthy Michael Dixon or Tim Statz will make an impact. However, a healthy C.C. Watson could really help us.

Whats your solution Coach34? Hitting a batter? WOW you really dont have a clue with any sports.

I have to agree with you on one thing, our team is full of pussies who dont have any ball and arent tough. Blowing a 9-0 lead is truly unbelievable.

And just to think I actually got a little wooly after we took 2 of 3 from Tennessee SBD weekend.

the last several weeks not to mention USM scoring a ton on us Wed. night and you're more concerned with whether our pitcher hits a batter or not? Maybe you're Thompson's brother or whatever but he's a joke, period. Tell me what his staff's did at Georgia or how about Auburn?

Couldn't have said it better.
