Sources: Chad Morris returns to Clemson as offensive coordinator
Former Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris is nearing a deal to return to the Tigers in the same role, sources confirmed to ESPN on Saturday.
Interesting.
That is like a Mike Bobo type hire - retreads can blow pretty quick!Might be Dabo's last hire.
So can guys with NFL experienceThat is like a Mike Bobo type hire - retreads can blow pretty quick!
I think Mike Bobo is doing pretty well at GeorgiaThat is like a Mike Bobo type hire - retreads can blow pretty quick!
I think this is correct. If Dabo cant turn things around they are looking at 6-6 seasons or worse and it only takes a couple of those before the fans forget past glory and want to move on.Might be Dabo's last hire.
I could do well at GA.I think Mike Bobo is doing pretty well at Georgia
Is He AND Dumbo going to run the offense?![]()

Clemmons has always been mediocre..... unless of course you throw in their cheating and playing in a mediocre conference. And since they can't really cheat anymore, the writing is on the wall..... and I LOVE IT!!!!I think this is correct. Ohio state? Seriously. It’s highly questionable if the sec is even the best conference anymore. Big ten has won the last 2 and likely will get 3 in a row. Money talks.Clemmons has always been mediocre..... unless of course you throw in their cheating and playing in a mediocre conference. There are certain teams that would ALWAYS be about a 6 to 8, sometimes 9 win team if you could pluck them from wherever they are and FORCE them to play a legit SEC schedule. Noodle Lame is #1 on that list. Ohio St too, Clemmons, etc... definitely Oregon, etc.
I agree with you that it's questionable if the SEC is the best anymore.....we're not, THIS YEAR, perhaps last year...but I meant more or less anytime in the past decade. You take any of those historically "media darling" teams and drop them in the SEC in the past decade and they're not winning 9 games most of the time.Ohio state? Seriously. Well ok, just the last 3-4 years are not the football of old. The game has changed your statement is no longer relevant that’s what I’m saying.I agree with you that it's questionable if the SEC is the best anymore.....we're not, THIS YEAR, perhaps last year...but I meant more or less anytime in the past decade. "Plowed through the SEC". Playing a regular season ACC schedule (and not an SEC one)was the main reason you were in the playoff to begin with back in '16 and '18. Your starters (and entire team in general) were well rested by season's end-unlike Bama.Well ok, just the last 3-4 years are not the football of old. I have also never bought in to that narrative about Clemson. Most years yes but the Deshaun Watson last 2 and the first Trevor Lawrence teams would have handled the SEC just fine. They demolished Alabama with Trevor Lawrence and that team plowed through the sec.
Didn’t realize I played football. You can blow that crap up someone else’s skirt. I disagree but you are welcome to your opinion."Plowed through the SEC". Yawn....not at you... at Morris.![]()

Good thing Dabo jumped the gun on that hire because Kingsbury is back on the market as of today. That could have been a dangerous addition.![]()

If Dabo had hired Kingsbury, you’d of said Morris was a better optionGood thing Dabo jumped the gun on that hire because Kingsbury is back on the market as of today. That could have been a dangerous addition.
Just saw about Kingsbury. Wonder if he'll step back to the college game. He was a wizard as OC in college. Coached Johnny Manziel, Baker Mayfield, Michael Crabtree, Patrick Mahomes. Probably some others.Good thing Dabo jumped the gun on that hire because Kingsbury is back on the market as of today. That could have been a dangerous addition.
And your basis for that assumption is? Kind of a strange response. If Dabo had hired Kingsbury, you’d of said Morris was a better option
I understand your point, UGA has incredible talent and while they did win the SEC with Bobo as OC this year, they have higher expectations since winning National Championships.Yes, by our standards, but Im not sure by UGA standards, Last Natty was before Bobo, and UGA fans seem to know that, LOL

I don't understand this. "Most years" isn't equivalent to 4-5 years (the Watson/ Lawrence years).Well ok, just the last 3-4 years are not the football of old. The game has changed your statement is no longer relevant that’s what I’m saying.

There is a specific offense that you just almost mentioned that all those players listed played in....we now have an OC that has big portions of that offense as part of his offense. Can't wait for the season.Just saw about Kingsbury. Wonder if he'll step back to the college game. He was a wizard as OC in college. Coached Johnny Manziel, Baker Mayfield, Michael Crabtree, Patrick Mahomes. Probably some others.
Imagine if Bama (back when they were a powerhouse) played a creampuff ACC schedule against Wake and Duke from 2016-2018 and how rested they would have been for the playoffs. It would have been a walk in the park to win the championship.I don't understand this. "Most years" isn't equivalent to 4-5 years (the Watson/ Lawrence years).
Let those Clemson teams play a man's schedule the whole year and we would've seen them show up to whatever end game with about 3-4 less starters/key contributors. Playing Wake Forest and BC every week aren't quite as taxing as Florida and Tennessee.
