Incredible, especially for Barcelona, a team that scores like Wilt Chamberlain on Spanish Fly in Amersterdam.
Couldn't have happened to a better bunch. Can't stand Chelski. I like Lampard and Terry, but the rest of them are a bunch of prima donnas. And I hope Barca stomps the shiat out of United.

I understand there is more to it than scoring goals.....same with any sport. However, I believe it would be a much more exciting game if one of two things happened........get rid of the goalie or make the goal twice as big. If the games would just get up into the 5-6 goal a game range. It would take off in the USA.

How can you say that chelski are a bunch of prima donnas and cheer for Barca. Xavi and Iniesta make Drogba look like Cal Ripkin. Either way, the ref hijacked the game and that was the real shame. I understand that you don't want it to be decided by a pk, but there were at least two clear cut penaltes that Chelsea should have been given. As much as i hate to say it, I hope Fan U takes care of business.
I am not really cheering for Barca. I just despise Chelsea and Man U that much.

I got no love for Chelsea, but to me, the real story of the CL is the job that Guus Hiddink did with that team. Holding Barca to one goal in two games? Masterful. I wish USsoccer would throw the kitchen sink at that guy and try to lure him from Russia. But we are too afraid that he might bench Landon Donovon. WE ARE......usa
I can understand that people want to see more scoring but it just makes the goals that are scored feel less important. As a player and a fan, high scoring games are just not as fun. The highs when you score are not as high and the lows when the other team scores are not as low.
I dont think FIFA stays up nights crying over how they can get americans to accept their game. If you like high scoring soccer-style play, watch hockey. To me the nba is proof that high scores are not equal to excitement. I'm fine with the nba, but i never watch it before the second half. I do think that the Italian/Spanish way of play is boring as compared to the Premier League. That is why i pull for the english teams in the CL. Although some of the PL teams are easier to pull for than others. It will be easier to pull for Fan U after Ronaldo leaves, and they pick up Ribery.
The NBA is one extreme and soccer is another. I agree...basketball on most levels is most exciting at the end. However, how interesting would basketball be if a guy could stand in front of the goal, goal tend, and then not be touched once he rebounds or at any other point of the game (boxed out)? With that said though, there are not near as many shots at goal in soccer as other sports. Maybe the offside needs to be eliminated. That could lead to more shots at goal.
But anyway, I saw a couple of HS State tournament games and both ended in a scoreless match even with extra time. Both games were won on penalty shootouts. Which were extremely exciting. Which lead to a discussion among some people at the games.

'On goal' meaning that it would have gone in if not saved by the keeper. A shot that whistles by the crossbar is technically not 'on goal.'
The reason it was so amazing is that Barcelona has scored an incredible amount of goals this year and have humiliated major clubs like Bayern and Real Madrid by 5-6 goal margins. It's similar to the Pats-Giants Super Bowl where the Giants defense held Brady and the Pats down despite the fact they were undefeated, set the all time record for points in the NFL, and had everybody expecting them to win in a romp. Now imagine that the Giants scored a field goal early and held the Pats scoreless the whole game, and in the last minute Brady hits Moss for a 50 yard TD to win the game. That's what happened yesterday.
