So, lets see if I can get through this. Ch kick off to RB ... 3 and out. Ch takes over and marches down the field like they own it and puts it in for 7. From then until the fourth quarter the Chargers D played great. They were on the field way too long but they still stopped the Bears twice in the red zone and forced punt after punt. But the Offense!?!?!?! Where did it go? The QB ... lets just say he had the worse game I have seen him have in four seasons. Still, Riverbend only managed to score once. Then in the fourth quarter, the Chargers woke up. Once again, they put together a drive like they owned the field and then forced another punt. Which bounced their way and a Charger snagged it and took it home. The Bears managed another TD in a last effort but it wasn't enough.

1) Sloppy game! Sloppy for both but more so for the Chargers.
2) Way too many penalties for both teams.
3) The heat was a factor for both teams!!! You could see it in their faces and there were multiple cramps.
4) First games are always sloppy but this one was a little over the edge.

Both of these teams have some work to do. The Chargers know they fell flat for two full quarters plus and will take care of that. They have the D and the O .... they just need to execute. They have the W and are looking to next week and Massaponax.

Here's the thing. The Chargers were very sloppy. By your own admission. They have excellent talent. No question.

But over the last 5 years, what defines Chancellor? Sloppy. Way to many penalties. Too many opportunities blown. Too many WTF's. Do have to give them that they are always good defensively.

I am very optimistic on them going far this year. They really have a good squad. But for 5 years, we keep saying the Chargers can fix that when they play sloppy. But nothing has changed. Sloppy continues. Why is that and what makes anyone think it will be different next week? They have every tool in the box to win the Battlefield this year and make some playoff noise. When will they show a little discipline and open the box? Hope and optimism isn't cutting it anymore.

We'll have to disagree on this. There was no slop last year and the two years before that, the Chargers were the youngest squad I have ever seen ... younger than Courtland is this year. My opinions are based on sitting in the stands and watching the games and not reading posts on a board and twisting them the way that suits me. Haven't seen you in the stands in years. I will say this though, you are always predictable. Chancellor could beat the New England Patriots and you'd find something to bad mouth them about.

No slop in the last three years? That is pie eyed and blind optimism.

And if the you beat the New England Patriots, this bad mouth will personally come and kiss your butt. Right down to the ballon knot.

I have picked them to win the District and make noise in the playoffs, you know.

I picked against them with Riverbend last night for exactly that reason. They're sloppy and I thought it would take them some time to sync up. A nice win. Well done. But I have great expectations for them. I'll pick against them with Ponax too, even with their JV QB as the new starter. Perhaps I'll lose again, but it's the right choice because Chancellor knows how to find a way to blow it.

You don't see that Chancellor doesn't lose games? They blow them. No team is perfect but DAMN. It is their most defining trait for more than half a decade.

OK. We just see things differently. GL on the season. After last night's games, I don't see how they can possibly lose District.
