that the sheep will cling to. Doesn't matter who's on the defense, they will be solid. It's the other parts where we need to see good news like this.

Our D-line is getting raped by graduation. I wonder who is going to play Mike next year by the way? Chaney is moving to outside linebacker.

As for the secondary, I've never been that impressed with Pegues, I think the drop off with Smith won't be severe. We get AJ back.

1) People have said our "defense will be worse next year" since Croom got here. Most specifically in 2006, talking about 2007. It hasn't happened yet.

2) Our DL is not that great now, but they are solid. They haven't gotten good pushes all year. Why is graduation a loss here? Love is the anchor and will be back. Bailey, McCraney and Burns are all easily replaceable. Ferguson has started games this year. We have a JUCO phenom committed (if he sticks). Stigers will be a beast next year. At least as good as Bailey/Holmes. **** we have a stable of DLinemen.

3) Our LB's will be fine. Bo Walters, Karlin Brown, Terrell Johnson, Jamie Jones all a year older will be OK. And there's the hotshot JUCO guy who may or may not pan out. Jamon Hughes will be back with Cheney. We have time and time again replaced LB's. Culberson ring a bell? We did OK without Cheney this year.

4) Pegues is the best player on our team. You haven't been impressed with him? Yeah OK. Zack Smith is the one who scares the **** out of me. He's not that good and probably won't even start next year either. What team have you been watching??

5) You are right about AJ. Big big help. Not to mention no more Tay Bowser.

I thought everybody was crying about wanting to get more touches for Pegues, and on offense. Could it be that Croom was right in that safety is where Pegues out to really be??

No effing way.

at MLB. According to his coach, he is an NFL player. I know we are all going to take a wait and see approach on that evaluation - just sayin' what I have heard/read.

If White is as good as advertised - we will have a strong LB crew - Wright, White, Chaney.

If AJ comes back as strong as before, CBs are a push.

D-Line is a downgrade with a chance to be at least as good (of course this is the most important group). Hopefully Love steps it up some more and someone else emerges at DT. McPhee should be an upgrade over Tim Bailey. Bailey really doesn't do much but get in the way. Bowman is the only real loss in my opinion. We will see what life without him is like in the next 2 games.

Safeties are a downgrade - no way around that. Hopefully Mitchell will play well - he looks pretty good.

WTF you talkin' about Willis? I see his uncle just about every day and he hasn't mentioned anything about him coming back.

are not just "replaceable". They are good. They have 32 and 27 tackles b/w them. Love has 9. And while our ends aren't very good, the fact that they are starting means there is no one behind them. I hope McPhee sticks and is the real deal. LBs should be fine. At DB, we lose Glanton, Fitz and Pegues and swap O'Quinn for AJ. We may be fine, but I just don't see us being better.

on the team. I didn't know Love was your best D-lineman, especially since he doesn't start.

Also, I see that Croom also played Joshua Jackson in 3 games this year, I thought for sure he was going to redshirt. He did make 1 tackle, so that is something. Also, Arceto Clark has 6 touches for 33 yards.

He's been hurt off and on. He's the best talent and he's started plenty when he can.

He has only started the first game of the year. I've seen Love play, and he has no where near the impact that Jessie Bowman had this season.

You are not going to convince me otherwise, because of tackles, playing time, and starts Bowman is a better player.

Arceto "Secret Weapon" Clark was a great move. I mean, we might have lost to Kentucky without him being out there every play, catching passes all over the field and busting big runs. Why, since we adjusted our offense to revolve around him, it's been a totally different season. And to think, Clark was on our team the whole time flying under the radar. Thankfully Sly Croom's eye for practice-to-game talent was able to spot Arceto before it was too late. The opposition was duped into thinking our offense sucked. Sly: aptly named my friend.

He has played in three games. He played in Se LA, and Ga Tech, and hadn't played again until Saturday. Just a waste of a year for a DT, who usually take 2-3 years to really develop into something.

Also, did Mark Melichair suffer a season ending injury? He started the first two games, and hasn't played since. I really don't know, just wondering.
