Fire the football coach. Fire the men’s basketball coach. Fire the women’s basketball coach. Fire the baseball coach. If all else fails just fire everybody. And when the next coach comes, fire them too…

I’m glad my livelihood isn’t in some of y’all’s hands.
We are seriously underachieving in almost every sport you named. Not baseball.

CB's tenure is long enough now that we know what we're going to get, and that's poor shooting, poor off-ball movement, guards who don't feed the bigs enough, and too much hero ball at the end of shot clocks because we get so little out of our primary and secondary actions. I don't expect us to get anything different from that at this point.

This team has so regressed, from awful preparation to awful preparedness to abysmal execution, one quick observation is the Coach not put so much dependence in India, especially offensively, she can stuff a stat sheet against weak competition however look at the ND guard, 31 pts and the best defender on the floor, where as IN can barely make a layup.

Our bigs had decisive advantage from a size perspective and were also non-existent.

So many coaches in the conference envy the amount of talent this team has and so sad for the kids. Unless a drastic improvement, I can see a potential change at the top with the expectation being so high!

Let’s get the recruits for next year in here first then I will agree with a coaching change if things don’t change

Bigs (Toomey, Harris and Thomas) are just so soft. They’re big, but play like tissue paper on the block.

I am UNC all day and every day. I really want the UNC Women's team to do well but we have seen this movie again and again. We dominate and beat up people below us...so so against people near us and completely outclassed almost every time we play a good team. We have recruited good enough to be a good, consistent top 15 program but we are not progressing to get to the top tier. I don't know man...I see issues with conditioning, ball handling, 3 pt shooting and offensive identity. We are winning due to pure talent that we have but to get to the top, we need more. I don't know if Coach CB is the right person or not...It just looks like we are headed back to a 4/5 seed in tournament and a bow out in the first weekend. We should be banging on the door of the Elite 8 every year.

4 or 5 seed? Well on their way to a 8/9

Love Coach B. I don’t follow WBB that closely, but it seems like she has recruited well enough to be much better at this point in her career here. I’m assuming she and we are counting on Harpring to turn the tables in the right direction.

With CB, not sure if she needs to shake up her coaching staff, or she does not listen to them. On the recruiting side, and the portal the GM has done an exceptional job.
(1) This is a young team, and the NI and RK are not adding a lot of value at this time, but Nyla Harris has done well for a transfer.
(2) CB has been able to retain some talent, not losing a lot of players to the portal, but one thing she has not done is have players drafted by the WNBA. The question with her is do the players actually improve with her coaching, or do they be stagnated.
(3) The verdict is still out on whether she is the right coach to take the women's basketball to the next level.

nail on the head.

Just add in not knowing how to you ball fakes to make passes, especially post entry passes, or to create clean shot looks.

Agree. I said it last week. Headed to 8-9 losses in conference play. Lucy to make tourney at that point.

I’d like to hope this is a wake up call for CB and the coaches that it’s an 5 alarm fire and there’s a night and day different team overnight. But even winning out at this point wouldn’t really make up for the results so far this year in my opinion because there aren’t any chances for high quality wins. Unless it was done in dominating fashion. Not holding my breath for either.

Harpring will save Banghart but I think it's clear at this point that she is an average coach, nothing more. If you look at the talent on the roster, they just don't perform. I think if Hubert wasn't so bad and Belichick wasn't so bad, she would be getting more smoke. I think if they hadn't landed Harpring, Banghart would likely be on a very hot seat.

To his point tho when ever their is a hard time ,and yes teams have hard times , your answer is to fire the coach . We're talking about a coach who has generally done well since being here, recruiting ,we care winning more games oppose to losing most, making the tournament, of course we have national championship yet. But again I ask the question I submitted in earlier discussions,we fire her are we ok and ready for what is next ,if that is really your answer?

Are you ready to settle for mediocrity?

We are, actually, the 8th youngest team in the country this year.
They were also considered to be young last season because most of the reserves were freshman despite starting two super seniors, a four year senior and a junior. I know they wouldn't be considered to be veteran team if the four of the starters were freshmen and the reserves were mostly made up of juniors and seniors.

Fire our head coach now we would be the laughing stock of the ACC and that mediocrity you ask about will get a lot worse for the women's program. You think it's bad now ,which it's not remotely bad as we making it out to be, but fire the head coach now and you'll see. Our fan base and I'm trying to be respectful are a tad bit spoiled at this point. Yes I'm with you id love to win the games you guys would like or want us to win, reality is we didn't win. But as a program are we doing bad to fire our coach? No. Like my opinion on Hubert with the men team , it's all about the right coaching staff we put around our head coach. Let's start there.

I never said they should be fired now. Serious conversations need to be had at the end of the season unless major improvement is made. We are heading for the bubble or worse. We are going to lose 10 games or more.

Most concerning is the lack of program improvement during her tenure. Recruiting is the only thing going decent.

Before Sarah Strong committed to UConn, we hoped and believed that if she committed to UNC, we'd be in the Final Four. I gotta wonder if, had Sarah Strong come to UNC, would Coach have gotten the same results out of her. I mean, let's be honest: who is the better coach, Geno, or CB?

Now all of the eggs are in the Harpring basket for next season. But when you're basing the entire success of your program on a single athlete, ...., to me that suggests there's some deficiencies in your system, somewhere.

Here is AI's analysis. Agree, disagree?

Here are the main tactical and strategic criticisms that have consistently come up regarding Courtney Banghart’s coaching at UNC. These are drawn from media analysis, fan discussions, and common talking points around the program.

Offensive System Criticisms
• Lack of consistent offensive identity
UNC often goes long stretches without scoring, and the offense can look stagnant when guards struggle to create. Critics argue the team doesn’t have a clear, repeatable system that generates easy baskets.

• Too isolation‑heavy
A common complaint is that possessions devolve into 1‑on‑1 play, especially late in games. When primary scorers are shut down, UNC struggles to find alternative creation sources.

• Limited use of the post
Despite having capable forwards, UNC’s offense under Banghart often leans perimeter-heavy. Fans often say the team does not feed the post enough or use bigs as playmaking hubs.

• Slow pace
Her Princeton roots emphasize ball movement and spacing, but the pace at UNC has often been slower than expected for ACC play. Some argue this limits transition opportunities and easy scoring.

Roster and Rotation Criticisms
• Short rotations
Banghart frequently plays heavy minutes for starters while giving limited time to bench players. Critics say this contributes to fatigue and limits development of depth.

• Inconsistent lineups
There have been stretches where the rotation seems to shift unpredictably, leading to questions about roles and chemistry.

• Underutilization of certain players
Some talented recruits and transfers have not played major roles, feeding the narrative that Banghart’s system fits a narrower type of player.

In-Game Management Criticisms
• Late‑game execution issues
UNC has lost several close games where late possessions were disorganized, reinforcing concerns about timeout usage and play design under pressure.

• Slow adjustments
Fans often note that it takes too long for UNC to adjust when opponents change defensive looks (zone, traps, switching schemes). This is one of the most frequently mentioned critiques.

• Timeout timing
Some argue she occasionally waits too long to stop runs, especially when momentum swings on the road.

Defensive System Criticisms
• Overreliance on individual defense
UNC typically plays solid man-to-man defense, but there’s criticism that the team doesn’t mix defenses enough to disrupt elite offenses.

• Rebounding lapses
Despite having good athletes and size, UNC has had issues finishing possessions, especially against more physical ACC teams. Critics connect this to boxing‑out discipline and positioning.

Player Development Criticisms
• Guard development inconsistencies
UNC has had talented guards, but fan sentiment is that few have taken major leaps year over year.

• Lack of a true point guard pipeline
This has been a multi-year concern: the offense has often operated without a traditional point guard running the show.

Summary of the Biggest Tactical Criticisms

  1. Offense lacks identity and becomes stagnant.
  2. Late-game execution and adjustments are inconsistent.
  3. Rotations are tight, limiting depth and development.
  4. Offensive schemes do not consistently leverage the team’s size or versatility.
