Bammers and Aubie's are saying he is headed to Auburn. This doesn't sound good. Does anyone have any information that this is not true?</p>

That really wouldn't surprise me if he did go to Auburn. I think we still have a good shot to land him though.

If AU puts the full court press on someone, they get them. The stuff exposed on twitter alone over the past year at AU make the NCAA look like a freaking joke (Whitehead tweeting a picture of his brand new car a couple of days after signing day and then two other signees tweeting pics with thousands of dollars in cash a couple of days after signing day). The biggest indicator of how big of a joke the NCAA is was the responses from those recruits when people asked them where it came from. Whitehead replied "gotta get in the family bruh" and the others replied with something similar. What has been AU's motto? That's right, Family.

I remember seeing where Whitehead had said that if he visits Auburn he knew he'd love it and have to commit there. But truth is these guys have all seen the campuses multiple times. Oh well, if Auburn is going to get away with it I guess there's nothing you can complain about.

I think the story of Whitehead's new Camero actually broke on this board. If I remember correctly, Sports By Brooks documented it as well.

so who knows what happens but I'm hearing Mama may have a lot to say about where he ends up and she wants him close by. I think we have a good shot in the end especially with the influence of Evans and James.

The way I understand it, anyone who says they know what Ward is doing is BS'n

Auburn. From what I have been hearing we never were really in the picture with him. LSU and Bama were next.

These are the type of players we should be getting out of OUR STATE.

because IMO he wouldn't be going to a much better program than we have other than Auburn and the towel waver are willing to blantantly buy players (ie. Newton and Whitehead). But as has been shown by Chizik's teams in year 1 and 3, minus the Cam Newton/Nick Fairly anomaly last year, its just a 7-5 type program.

he may end up at AU, but we are definitely in it.

Bama was the leader at one point, but I think he realized he was a better fit in a 4-3 than a 3-4. His mom wants him to stay close to home and he likes Quay and some of the other commits.

Where the guy asked him where he was going. Ward answered along the lines of he had no idea yet and didn't say anything about anyone sticking out.

Might have been an answer to just blow him off and go on about what he was doing, cause I'm sure he is probably sick of being asked about it. But he didn't throw a "but I really like....." or anything.

Maybe mama can keep him close by.

I really hope you guys are right butI think my info is prettygood. Bama WAS the early leader. Auburn took the lead a few weeks ago. LSU is definately in the mix, probably ahead of Bama now. IF he stays in state (doubtful)we still are in a TOUGH uphill battle. If we get him I'll gladly eat crow on this.

he has dropped on their board- not to mention all the youth they have on the DL- he will have to redshirt there- so that has put them out of it. LSU alot of the same... <div>
</div><div>He likes us both and Auburn- and it will be a battle...us getting commits from Quay and James have helped alot...I wont be surprised if he chooses Aubarn- but we are right there</div>

Bama signed 22 last year meaning they can sign at least 27 or 28 this year. They have 8-9 spots left. To suggest Ward is off their radar is misguided.

he dropped so much on the Bama list that Saben flew in to visit him last week. He flew into the Monroe County airport. That is a FIRST for Monroe County as far as anyone knows. It made the front page of the local paper, edited by UM folks for sports. That had to kill them to publish that. Local knowledge saysyou are full of it, except for Auburn being in the lead. FLYING in was a statement thing. He could haveDRIVEN to Aberdeen nearly as fast and with a lot less trouble.

as of TODAY- we are ahead of Bama<div>
</div><div>Recruiting is a fluid situation obviously- but we are in good shape among the big boys...Aubarn and that towel-waving SOB is the biggest obstacle right now</div>

Unless they are signing jucos to count towards last year can't they only sign 25 regardless of the small class last year?

you are right. My info is we were never really higher than 5th. We aren't out yet but setting this up as a failure for Mullen if we don't get him, as many are, is disingenuous at BEST.

hell, they think they are in the race because of his brother- and they are absolutely no factor.<div>
</div><div>If we dont get him, it is in no way a failure by Mullen- we are doing all we can do. As I like to remind people- CJ may have changed, but for some reason nobody remembers him outrecruiting the Bears for Arrington, PJ, and a few others. Too many of our fans listen to the Bear propaganda machine too much</div><div>
</div><div>It's the year after a big bowl win- and our recruiting is very good this year</div>

While they probably owe landing Scam to more than just luck, they didn't just back into a national championship. Their recruiting is legit. And while we may have lost the game to them at the 6 inch line, we still lost. Our program is nowhere near being basically the same as theirs. We don't recruit on their level, at all.

only player you will see me really comment on in recruiting this year.I have held back becauseI am afraid talking about it may be counter productive. I just can't stand to seepeople setting this up as a massive fail by Mullen if we don't get him when actually it would be a massive suprise coup if we DO. I don't get my stuff on him from the net, recruiting services, boosters, or coaches. Like I said, I hope you are right, but you probably aren't. Not right now anyway. If I think you ever become that way I will say so. </p>

Take away Cam last year, and Auburn is an 8-5, maybe 9 win ball club. I don't care what some Aubie told you. Newton and Fairley WERE that team. They were 8-5 Chizik's first year. They will finish 8-5 this year if they don't end up 7-6. Last year was an anomaly. Book it. Auburn really isn't that much better off right now than we are.
