Just occurred to me that if a string of irrational upsets occurs this weekend, three teams who were NOT conference champions would be in the Final Four:

Florida beats Bama, but Bama in anyway
OSU already in
Va Tech beats Clemson and Colorado beats Washington

Probably means Michigan gets in

then the winner of the Big 10 championship game, or Oklahoma, would be the only conference champ in the Final Four

Chances are remote, but hence the testing of the Chaos Theory

This weekend should definitely be interesting to see how everything shakes out. Side note Chaos Theory is a solid movie.

I think Ohio State will always get a bid whether they win their conference championship or not. With their schedule they are pretty much guaranteed of only having 1 loss during the regular season. That guarantees they are in.

Listened to ESPN and other college football talk shows while driving most of yesterday and many talking heads really believe it's possible to have three Big Ten teams in the playoffs under OPs scenario. I don't think so . It would outrage the other P 5 conferences left out.

Well, we've already had a case where 2 of the 5 were left out...
What if you had 2 teams each from 2 conferences get in...say Bama, LSU, OSU and Michigan? (not this year but as an example) Again there would be 3 of 5 left out.

IMHO I still think they should expand to 8 and take the 5 P5 champions, the top ranked Group of 5 team and the next 2 best teams. That gives meaning to the conference championships and still makes room for teams like OSU that deserve a shot.

No chaos . . . but I did see Michigan students at the ACC game last sight with a sign that said "We want Chaos! Go Blue!" Got a chuckle out of it anyway
