He wasn't ruled eligible. A court just granted him a TRO until they can have a hearing. No way Bama is dumb enough to play him given if he's ruled ineligible (which he will be) it could have serious implications on their season.

I’m noticing a pattern. When players appeal to federal courts they seem to get turned down. But when they appeal at a state level court in the state of their college, they seem to win.

FTR...the court isn't the jurisdiction in this case. The NCAA is the governing body. All they've done is issued a TRO so the courts can potentially rule on the eligibility issues. But, and here's the thing, their ruling wouldn't be a singular individual. It would be on an NCAA eligibility standard as a whole.
