He may end up being Tennessee's coach if Dooley keeps heading South and Gruden, Bear Bryant, and Tom Landry turn it down

TUSK's Batshit crazy prediction for a rainy day:

The Bama/MSU game could be for the NC.

Yall will be favored in every other game except for @ LSU and they still don't have a QB or HC and yall always seem to play them tough.

yeah, I know, get out the shears.

I think we'll scare LSU- but it's hard for a State fan to think we can win there- even if they were 3-6 going into the game

I agree... but if yall pull off a miracle in Tuscaloosa, and LSU continues to struggle, I could see that game as a 5-7 point line going in...

like I said.... Rainy day and all...

So you'res saying there's a chance.

I'll say we have a puncher's chance. Its a huge longshot. But if a miracle were to happen in Tuscaloosa, we'd be in the BCS conversation. We just have to slug away in Tuscaloosa and hope the elephant falls down.

We first have to get by MTSU. They may be the toughest game for State until

Bama. MTSU beat Tech 49-28, and it wasn't really close in the second half. That game concerns me more than the Tennessee game. Tyrone Nix is their DC, maybe Dak should run the ball all day.

It's just as much about WHEN we play them as WHERE we play them. After Tennessee, week before LSU. I can't think of a better spot to play them. If we had a chance to upset them in Tuscaloosa, this will probably be our best shot.

Not saying we will, just saying it's not out of the question. Not nearly as much of a long shot as most Bammers would like to think.

You must've not watched our last two games. We played like crap, and we won't

get by MTSU if we come into that game flat. With Tennessee the week before and Alabama the week after, it's more of a trap game than Troy. Georgia Tech may be a literal wreck, but MTSU beat them badly and it wasn't even close in the second half. It's one thing when a Sun Belt school upsets an ACC or SEC school, but MTSU blew the doors off of GT.

That's the same line of reasoning Ole Miss fans used in 98. Texas beat State,

Ole Miss beat Texas Tech, Texas Tech beat Texas, therefore Ole Miss must be better than State. Teams improve through the course of the year, and I'm going to go on and say that a lot of 17's will be posted on this board on October 20th. It will be a close game unless the Tyrone Nix we faced the last 3 years comes out that night.

Head-to-head outcome 'trumps' all this 'who beat who' BS. No way even a delusional OM fan would voice that line of reasoning after the Dogs won a 28-6 beatdown in Oxford.

I think Briles and Davis are higher on Arkansas' list than Strong. The Vol nation seems to be clamoring for Petrino. Strong would be wise to stay put, but it would be interesting to see if UK makes a run at him.
