Final tweet is my FAVORITE

And proves beyond a doubt what an idiotic move it was! Referee even turning his mic off to help the poor fool out!!

I think USM did this once.

Won the the toss and said they wanted to kick. Ref asked if they meant defer and they said no they wanted to kick.

Jackie did that at least once. Was a low scoring defensive game and he was playing for field position.

Happened in the 1982 Egg Bowl. Ole Miss won the toss, and Keith Fourcade said "We'll kick" instead of deferring. Our Special Teams Captain, a guy with limited athletic ability but very smart, jumped in immediately and said "we'll defend that goal". That not only gave us the ball both quarters, but we got the wind at the start of the game and it was never a contest.

It was the 83 Egg Bowl (the wind bowl). You couldn't defer back then, and the refs were pretty adamant about accepting the first words out of your mouth. After winning the toss, the UMiss captain knew they wanted the wind, so he said "We'll kick THAT way". The ref took that as a choice to kick, so he let MSU choose which goal to defend, so UMiss had to kick INTO the wind in the 1st Quarter. Then in the 3rd Quarter, MSU took the ball, and UMiss had decided they wanted the wind at their backs in the 4th quarter (pretty smart, it turned out), so they kicked INTO the wind again in the 3rd quarter.

Charlie strong is not a good coach and tx will find that out soon. He wasn't the reason they won at UL bridgewater was a GREAT college QB.

Well that certainly can happen, signed:

Curley Hallman......parlayed coaching a kid named Favre into the head coaching job at one of the premier football schools in the land then fell flat on his face. Dak has the ability to move his coach up several notches on the coaching ladder too.

Well, he is AVERAGE or a little above. Not great by any means. He's a 8 win type coach at Texas in my opinion.

He wasn't the reason they won at UL bridgewater was a GREAT college QB.

That, and he had the easiest schedules known to man.

I think Strong would be the most effective at schools where he can use his Florida connections for recruiting. I actually think he was a perfect fit at Louisville. Tennessee is another place I can see Strong excelling. I think he made a big mistake by not going there after the 2012 season when UL won the Sugar Bowl.
