Longhorns down 7-3 to TCU. Will be interesting to see what with Strong, Herman, etc., over the next 24-48 hours.

The bigger question could be who would Texas get if they get rid of Strong. If Hermann is heading to LSU, then the elite pool gets reduced.

I think there is a good possibility Jimbo Fisher will be the next Texas Coach.

Orgeron still has a shot to stay at LSU. Herman probably wants to go to Texas. Charlie Strong could have had hope to stay at UT if he'd beat TCU. Not happening. Sorry, Charlie. He'll end up at a mid-major. He's not a bad coach.

that story made no sense whatsoever. Herman was NOT going to take LSU job before finding out what Texas would offer

As much as I think Coach O is a dang good DL coach and a great recruiter, if LSU retains him, they've definitely 'settled'. Has to be a better candidate than Orgeron to coach that team. I can't see him getting past 8-9 wins consistently and they fired Les for that. Makes no sense not to grab Kiffin or Harsin or Fleck (WMU) or someone with a lot more pizzazz than Coach O for a headline program like LSU.

Strong is a DC, not a head coach. Sometimes there are reasons why coaches are lifelong coordinators. He hit lightning with Bridgewater.
