The Hawks come to Ledger tomorrow night. Hopefully the young line has beefed up during the offseason and got a little mad dog mean in them over the summer New QB this year who led an undefeated JV team year before last. Hopefully some of that will translate. Go Mountaineers !! Mounties by 2

I am with you. Mitchell has to be “tougher” than last year. Too many arm tackles. I feel the Mountaineers will be able to move the ball and score some points. Especially if the line can give the QB time in the pocket. However, I am concerned with the defense. Not only tackling but pass defense as well.

Tonight marks 50 years of Mountaineer Football. My oldest brother, center was a senior from Bowman and was the co captain with the Harris representative.

It’s starting to show that Mike Slagle no longer handing championship teams to Mitchell from middle school we are going backwards back to 3-8 4-7 seasons Slagle is the best coach we ever had in this county just like Sheehan was in Yancey they went to high school stronger then these kids are not strong as they were 6 to 7 years back for sure

Little bit of a shocker, heard Mitchell had looked good in scrimmages, maybe Latin is pretty good

Biggest issues I see on defense poor tackling. On offense some of the same issues not getting the plays in on time and just zero imagination on offense play calling. I know there's been great seasons but despite this issue and it's caught up with them. While there's talent still but probably not as deep so the play calling has got to improve. I never have understood having the qb come to the side line have a rb or receiver ready to send a play in no excuse for delay of game.

Well nothing new about the football stadium. There's a new girls softball field as you enter the school grounds and lights added and turf added to the boys baseball field. The biggest addition they're still working on the inside is an indoor sports facility with a 50 yard football practice field, basketball court, batting cages and I believe virtual golf simulator.

well in that case you probably have see the turf on the football field. I know one thing Mitchell county has a good grant writer. Should be a good game I just hope Mitchell plays better.
