The state and Charlotte NAACP chapters have filed a lawsuit challenging the state law that would allow Matthews, Mint Hill, Huntersville and Cornelius town governments to create their own charter schools. The law would allow the charter schools to give preference to residents of the respective towns, unlike other charters.
