15 years. SEC network possibility still alive.

A lot could change between now and then. I don't think I would have wanted to do a deal for that long. I'd have gone for 8-10 years max.

I wonder why they don't add more prime time games instead of afternoon games? </p>

Is wanting a bigger portion of SEC games, and this is part of the deal. CBS could show more morning/afternoon doubleheaders. I read somewhere where Raycom might get left out of the deal, putting a morning game on ESPN/ESPN2 and/or double header on CBS. ESPN package at night....

this could be a horrible deal for the SEC in five years for all we know. Who knows what could change. Plus, now they have no incentive to make anything better for about 13 years

I mean, you've studied the contract language that thoroughly? Damn, you're connected!

I have no doubt that there are outs and escalation clauses all through that sumbitch that protect both sides.

I'd be comfortable out to 8-10 years, but who knows what the broadcasting (and Internet) industry will look like 10-15 years from now. I don't like the SEC being locked in for that long. It's not like we couldn't re-up with CBS after a shorter term contract expired.

(don't they do the espn/coaches poll and have some employees who get votes?) if they are going to being purchasing packages from conferences because of obvious monetary bias.
